Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a Senior Developer for our Product team who will take ownership of a critical product area—from discovery through implementation and real-world usage—by deeply understanding the problem, designing the right solution, and delivering it with quality. Key Highlights: 1. Design and build coherent solutions aligned with business objectives. 2. Execute end-to-end projects, from discovery to production adoption. 3. Real autonomy and making a tangible impact on a financial product. What We’re Looking For: At Clay, we continue to grow and want to welcome a Senior Developer to our Product team. You will own a critical product area (e.g., bank reconciliation for payment methods) and drive it from discovery all the way to production deployment and genuine usage. This is not a ticket-execution role: it’s about understanding the problem, designing the correct solution, and closing it with quality. Strong programming skills alone are not sufficient here. You must understand the business, anticipate edge cases before anyone reports them, and possess sound judgment to determine when something is truly ready—or not. If you thrive in domain-focused work, value real autonomy, and want to leave a lasting mark on a financial product used daily by companies across Chile, this role is for you. Your Responsibilities: Design and build solutions within your assigned domain, ensuring technical coherence and alignment with business goals. Execute end\-to\-end projects—from discovery to real adoption in production. Decompose solutions into small, manageable pull requests (PRs), reducing risk and rework. Anticipate and resolve edge cases before implementation—not after. Leverage AI tools to raise delivery standards: tests, documentation, and code reviews. Participate in code reviews and informal mentoring, contributing technical judgment to the team. Our Tech Stack: MeteorJS, Node, MongoDB, Next.js, and JavaScript runtime in general **Testing:** Cypress and Jest Terraform or Pulumi, and AWS services including Lambdas, S3, SQS, EKS, among others Why Join Clay? At Clay, we are building the future of how finance and accounting connect within enterprises. We believe working with numbers can be simultaneously more strategic, automated, and human-centered. That’s why we design tools that free up time, eliminate friction, and empower finance teams to focus on what truly matters: growing the business. We are a bootstrapped and profitable company with a long-term vision. Our team is small, talented, and autonomous. We value technical curiosity, critical thinking, and simple yet powerful solutions. Every line of code has a direct impact on the product, customers, and business. Requirements: A degree in Computer Engineering or a related field (mandatory). Proven experience in full-stack development in production environments (mandatory). At least 2 years of experience in complex domains—fintech, ERP, or similar (mandatory). Experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases, and AWS or another cloud provider. Demonstrated ability to work with legacy codebases and perform migrations. Experience in payment methods or bank reconciliation. Proficiency in observability and large-scale processing. Experience working with AI. Bonus: experience in growth-stage startups. **Important:** Applications that do not answer the screening questions will not progress (if the questions don’t appear directly in the job posting, they were sent via email—please check your inbox or spam folder). Why Join Clay? Every technical decision has a direct impact on the product, customers, and business. We are a small, remote team with a high degree of autonomy. We value curiosity, accountability, and critical thinking. We build to last—not to raise funding rounds. Benefits: 5 weeks of paid vacation per year. ‍ ️ Complementary health and dental insurance (co-pay). We cover the first 3 days of medical leave. Biannual IPC-based salary adjustments. A personal day off on your birthday (and a half-day for each of your children’s birthdays). One afternoon off per month to recharge. 3 administrative days for personal errands. ⏰ Full ownership of your time—with emphasis on outcomes and learning. **Access to AI tools:** Claude for daily use and Claude Code for development. If this genuinely excites you, we’d love to meet you! To proceed, it’s essential that you answer the screening questions included in the application (if you don’t see them, you’re likely applying via Laborum—which means they’ll be emailed to you. This depends on the platform you apply through). **IMPORTANT:** Applications without answers to the screening questions will not be considered.
