Reporting to the Superintendent of Major Maintenance, the **Senior Asset and Major Maintenance Planning Engineer** will be responsible for ensuring the planning and quality of critical work during major shutdowns, improvement processes, and overhauls, delivering reliability and functionality to critical assets, with strong alignment to Reliability and Integrity teams. This role will be key in identifying, prioritizing, planning, and executing major maintenance, improvements, and overhauls—ensuring operational continuity through assurance of critical activities across the lifecycle of critical assets during major shutdowns at Quebrada Blanca processes, with a strong focus on safety. Work location is the Integrated Operations Center at our Santiago offices, on a 5x2 shift schedule, with frequent travel to the Quebrada Blanca site. **Key Responsibilities** --------------------------------- * Be a courageous safety leader—comply with and champion safety and environmental rules, regulations, critical controls, and procedures. * Plan and consolidate the annual plant shutdown and major maintenance program, maintaining a rolling 36-month forecast. * Define, jointly with Reliability and Integrity, the 5-year CAPEX portfolio that ensures continuity, reliability, and functionality of assets through overhaul campaigns and implementation of preventive/predictive strategies. * Define optimal intervention windows considering operational variables (tonnage, operating hours, and process conditions). * Chair the Liner Committee: Develop wear and degradation models for critical assets, projecting service life and maximizing potential—Conveyor Circuit, Chutes, Crushers, SAG Milling, Grinding Balls, and Piping. * Collaborate with OEM personnel to develop maintenance strategies, projections, and implement trials of new designs to achieve performance, durability, and cost compliance. * Propose business cases to optimize maintenance strategies—adjusting frequencies, incorporating condition monitoring, and data analytics technologies. * Define technical scopes for major maintenance (overhaul vs. replacement) and evaluate post-shutdown results. * Assess and validate field condition of critical components when work is determined not to require execution during the current shutdown. * Develop management and reporting tools. **Requirements** -------------- * Professional degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering—or equivalent qualification. * Minimum 8 years of mining experience, ideally in reliability, Moncon, planning, or concentrator copper maintenance. * Proven knowledge and experience in maintenance processes for critical equipment in concentrator plants. * Knowledge of wear modeling, degradation modeling, and service-life curves. * Experience in statistical failure analysis (Weibull, reliability, MTBF, MTTR). * Experience in operational risk assessment and equipment criticality analysis. * Knowledge of reliability methodologies: RCM, RCA, FMEA/FMECA. * Proficiency in maintenance management systems (Maximo or SAP PM). * Proficiency in data analysis and visualization (Power BI or similar). * Experience integrating operational, metallurgical, and maintenance data for predictive decision-making. * Availability to work in Santiago on a 5x2 shift schedule with frequent travel to the Quebrada Blanca site. **About Teck** At Teck, we value diversity.
