Located in the heart of Santiago, our office connects global expertise with world-class mining projects. **Job Description** ------------------------- **Application Deadline: July 30, 2026** Reporting to the SERA Manager, the **Communities Specialist** will be responsible for leading and coordinating the social aspects associated with project development, providing strategic analysis of the social and territorial environment to support decision-making and the acquisition of environmental and sectoral permits. The role will be responsible for integrating territorial information, generating social intelligence, coordinating work with Community Relations teams, identifying risks and opportunities, and ensuring timely incorporation of social variables into project design, planning, and execution. The incumbent will act as the primary liaison between projects and field-based social teams, promoting an integrated understanding of the territorial context and contributing to the development of relationship strategies aligned with corporate standards and international best practices. The position will be based at our corporate offices in Las Condes, on a 5x2 rotating shift schedule. **Key Responsibilities** --------------------------------- * Be a courageous safety leader, comply with and champion safety and environmental rules, regulations, critical controls, and procedures. * Integrate the social dimension into project planning and permitting strategy. * Ensure that project decisions adequately consider social and territorial variables. * Develop and maintain an up-to-date understanding of the territory where the project is located. * Analyze social, economic, cultural, and institutional dynamics. * Identify trends, emerging conflicts, and collaboration opportunities. * Identify levels of influence, interest, legitimacy, and capacity to effect change. * Maintain stakeholder matrices alongside relationship network analyses and potential evolution scenarios. * Coordinate continuously with Community Relations teams conducting fieldwork. * Facilitate information flow between the project and operations. * Prepare executive reports for senior management. * Draft periodic reports on the social context. * Conduct social risk analyses. * Prepare executive minutes for decision-making processes. * Develop Citizen Participation Plans and early engagement strategies. **Requirements** -------------- * Professional degree in Social Sciences such as Sociology, Psychology, Journalism, Law, or related disciplines. * Preferred: Diploma or postgraduate studies in Sustainability, Communications, or Public Affairs. * Minimum 5 years of experience in roles involving socio-territorial linkage or contextual analysis. * Preferred experience in industrial sectors: mining, energy; or within the public sector or organizations specializing in community engagement. * Experience working in multidisciplinary teams, including environmental and permitting areas. * Proficiency and experience in Environmental Scanning and Risk Analysis. * Strong writing and third-party report review capabilities. * Familiarity with Safety, Health, and Sustainability standards in the industry. * Intermediate English proficiency preferred. * Availability to work at our corporate offices in Las Condes, Monday through Friday, with frequent travel to Teck Chile sites or projects. **About Teck** At Teck, we value diversity.
