The Bartender possesses foundational skills but continually seeks emerging market trends and understands how guest needs evolve. This role is not merely that of someone enthusiastic about the world of beverages, but rather that of the bar host. The Bartender steps beyond the bar itself to assume personal responsibility for guests’ direct experiences. They will apply their knowledge and effort to achieve perfection in both the appearance and function of the bar. They will build relationships with others within the hotel as well as within the local community. They must demonstrate passion for every guest’s experience, with attention to detail—such as money passing through their hands, information provided to guests, and pride in the quality of their beverages. In any position, there are fundamental elements required for success—for example, creating a safe work environment, adhering to company policies and procedures, respecting confidentiality, protecting company assets, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring professional attire, personal appearance, and communication at all times. Guest Service Specialists are constantly on the move—they stand, sit, walk extensively, and perform various tasks (moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, and placing objects weighing 25 pounds or less unassisted; reaching upward, kneeling, twisting, stretching, and bending). It is essential that Guest Service Specialists perform their best work (and other reasonable tasks assigned) to ensure guest stay success and our business success. DESIRED COMPETENCIES Education: High school diploma or equivalent certificate from a General Educational Development (GED) program. (General Educational Development, GED).
