Reporting to the Head of Control and Management, the **Control and Management Engineer** will be responsible for efficiently administering and controlling the variables driving CAPEX and OPEX across mining operational processes, delivering clear, critical, and timely information to enable better decision-making and maximize process value—optimizing costs to achieve sustainable competitive advantage across the value chain. The work location is the Integrated Operations Center at our Santiago offices, on a 5x2 shift schedule with occasional travel to our Quebrada Blanca site in the Tarapacá Region, located at 4\.400 meters above sea level. **Key Responsibilities** --------------------------------- * Be a courageous safety leader—comply with and champion safety and environmental rules, regulations, critical controls, and procedures. * Develop, monitor, and track budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with strategic and operational objectives. * Manage and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), identify deviations, generate early warnings, and ensure implementation of corrective actions to maintain cost control. * Prepare clear and timely operational cost reports and analyses that enable operational teams to make informed and strategic decisions. * Execute planning for cost-saving or cost-optimization initiatives, promoting efficiency in operational cost control processes. * Ensure departmental processes comply with Health, Safety, Environment, and Community (HSEC) regulations, guaranteeing safe and sustainable operations. * Collaborate with Planning, Execution, and Business Partner teams (Human Resources, Finance, and Business & Administration Leadership), promoting a collaborative work culture and eliminating silos. **Requirements** -------------- * Professional degree in Industrial Civil Engineering, Commercial Engineering, or a related field. * Minimum 3 years of experience in cost management and control (OPEX, CAPEX) within mining processes or operations. * Knowledge of operational cost analysis and reporting. * Proficiency in data analysis tools (Power BI, Advanced Excel, MAXIMO/SAP, D365, and Ivalua) and technologies associated with operational cost management. * Intermediate English proficiency preferred. **About Teck** At Teck, we value diversity.
