About the Role Indexahost Tech seeks to hire a Cloud Infrastructure Director to lead the strategy, architecture, operation, and evolution of our cloud-based technology infrastructure. The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring that cloud platforms are secure, scalable, resilient, efficient, and aligned with business objectives. This is a strategic and leadership role involving coordination of technical teams and close collaboration with Technology, Security, Development, and Operations departments. The position requires a combination of deep technical expertise, leadership capability, and strategic vision to drive infrastructure modernization and establish sound cloud operations and governance practices. Key Responsibilities * Design and execute the organization’s cloud infrastructure strategy. * Lead the administration and evolution of production and development environments on platforms such as **AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform**. * Define highly available, scalable, resilient, and secure architectures. * Oversee compute, storage, networking, database, container, and cloud platform services. * Establish and maintain **Infrastructure as Code (IaC)** practices using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent technologies. * Lead automation, CI/CD, and infrastructure modernization initiatives. * Implement and oversee security policies, access management, data protection, and compliance. * Define backup, disaster recovery, operational continuity, and high-availability strategies. * Monitor infrastructure performance, availability, and capacity. * Manage cloud costs and develop **FinOps** strategies to optimize resource consumption. * Establish metrics and service-level agreements (SLA/SLO) for infrastructure services. * Lead responses to critical incidents and coordinate root cause analysis. * Evaluate emerging technologies and propose solutions to enhance the company’s technological efficiency and capabilities. * Lead, develop, and mentor infrastructure, cloud, DevOps, and operations teams. * Manage infrastructure- and cloud-related technology vendors and partners. * Produce technical documentation, standards, procedures, and infrastructure policies. Requirements and Qualifications Education * Professional degree in **Computer Engineering, Computing Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering**, or a related field. * Postgraduate studies or specialization in **Cloud Computing, Systems Architecture, Cybersecurity, or Technology Management** will be considered favorably. Professional Experience * **8+ years of experience** in technology infrastructure, cloud, systems, DevOps, or related areas. * **3+ years leading technical teams** or performing leadership functions in infrastructure/cloud roles. * Proven experience designing and managing enterprise-grade cloud architectures. * Experience working with at least one major cloud provider: **AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud**. * Experience in high-availability environments, distributed systems, and mission-critical services. * Experience in capacity planning, operational continuity, and disaster recovery. * Experience managing technology projects and coordinating cross-functional teams. Technical Knowledge Practical proficiency in several of the following areas is expected: * Cloud Architecture: AWS, Azure, or GCP. * TCP/IP networking, DNS, VPN, firewalls, load balancers, and CDN. * Linux and/or Windows Server. * Containers and orchestration: **Docker and Kubernetes**. * Infrastructure as Code: **Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent technologies**. * CI/CD and automation tools. * Git and modern software development and operations practices. * Observability, logging, and monitoring. * Relational and NoSQL databases. * Identity and access management (IAM). * Cloud security and **Zero Trust** principles. * Backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity. * Automation via scripting, especially **Python, Bash, or PowerShell**. * Cloud cost management and optimization.
