Reporting to the Superintendent of Optimization Projects, the **Process Engineer** will be responsible for conducting process analyses related to benefit assessments of initiatives, bottleneck identification, and opportunities to increase throughput via various levers—ensuring optimal metallurgical and operational plant performance for current and potential projects within the Optimization portfolio, which aim to guarantee compliance with current and future production plans, copper recovery targets, and process stability at Quebrada Blanca. The position will be based at our Quebrada Blanca site, located in the Tarapacá Region at 4\.400 meters above sea level, operating under a 4x3 shift system. **Key Responsibilities** --------------------------------- * Be a courageous safety leader, comply with and champion safety and environmental rules, regulations, critical controls, and procedures. * Identify bottlenecks, losses, rework, and inefficiencies through systematic analysis of process behavior. * Analyze and optimize critical process variables (P80, pH, reagent dosage, density, aeration) by proposing new initiatives for implementation. * Identify opportunities and collaboratively design improvements—with Process Control, Metallurgy, Operations, Reliability, Maintenance, and other teams—focused on productivity, safety, quality, and cost. * Support technical and economic evaluations of optimization and continuous improvement projects. * Evaluate benefits (e.g., production, throughput, and recovery improvements) of implemented Optimization initiatives. * Standardize procedures, methodologies, and work instructions. * Establish baselines for new initiatives, generate technical and KPI tracking reports for Optimization projects: Recovery (%), Head Grade, Concentrate and Tailings Grade, TPH (tons per hour), Reagent Consumption. **Requirements** -------------- * Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Civil Engineering with specialization in Process Engineering. * Minimum 5 years of experience in the mining industry or similar sectors. * Minimum 2 years of experience leading/developing industrial projects in mining. * Valid Class B driver’s license. * Knowledge of Performance Indicator Management (KPIs). * Proficiency in process analysis tools. * Knowledge of budgeting and cost analysis. **About Teck** At Teck, we value diversity.
