Manage digital geological information and logistics. **Location:** Pica, Tarapacá, Chile **Employment Type:** Regular full-time **Work Location:** On\-site About **Quebrada Blanca** Quebrada Blanca (QB) is located in the Tarapacá Region in northern Chile at an altitude of 4\.400 meters, approximately 240 kilometers southeast of the city of Iquique and 1\.500 kilometers from Santiago. Teck holds an indirect 60% interest in the mine. Reporting to the Production Geologist, the **Geology Sampler** is responsible for supporting the Production Geologist in blast hole, drill core, and special sampling; sample transportation and storage; retrieval and collection of archived samples; preparation of shipments for sample preparation and chemical analysis — all in accordance with safety, health, quality, and environmental standards and policies. This position will be based at the Quebrada Blanca site in the Tarapacá Region at 4\.400 meters above sea level, operating on a **7x7 shift system**. **Key Responsibilities** --------------------------------- * Be a courageous safety leader, complying with and championing safety and environmental rules and procedures. * Collect, prepare, and transport blast hole, drill core, and special samples per procedure for laboratory processing, verifying correct labeling at each stage. * Prepare and dispatch samples to various sample preparation and analytical services required by the Geology department, following established quality procedures and controls. * Retrieve and store archived samples. * Ensure blast hole sampling quality. * Control incident risks by complying with established safety regulations and work procedures. * Enter, update, and manage geological information using corporate digital platforms. * Enter, update, and track logistical and administrative requests required by the department using designated corporate digital platforms. * Implement HSEC standards across area activities and processes to ensure safe operation of assets, people, environment, and production. * Identify opportunities for process and system improvement and escalate them using the Quebrada Blanca Phase II Continuous Improvement Framework. * Execute sample collection, data entry, and Geological Database updates. * Contribute to managing and administering logistical and administrative requirements. * Perform work safely in accordance with HSEC policies. * Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation management. **Requirements** -------------- * Technical or higher-level education in geology or related field. * Minimum 4 years’ experience in geological exploration and drilling within open-pit mining operations at high altitude. * Experience in sampling. * Digital data handling skills desirable. * User-level proficiency in geological software (AcQuire, Dispatch, Vulcan, LeapFrog) is desirable. * Intermediate or higher Excel spreadsheet skills. * Valid Class B driver’s license. * Minimum one year’s driving experience under mining standards. * Intermediate MS Office proficiency. * Availability to work on a 7x7 system at site. **About Teck** At Teck, we value diversity.
