**Job Description**
We are seeking a Chemist B responsible for performing chemical and physical analyses of samples in the laboratory, ensuring compliance with procedures, result quality, and proper sample and consumable preparation and handling.
**Main Responsibilities**
* Perform chemical analyses of samples (e.g., iron, sulfur, phosphorus, ferrous oxide, trace elements, alkalis, free lime, etc.).
* Conduct physical analyses as required, such as particle size distribution, magnetic recovery, specific gravity, Blaine index, pH, turbidity, and suspended solids.
* Prepare necessary solutions and reagents for laboratory processes.
* Weigh samples and record results in systems and spreadsheets.
* Verify and validate results prior to delivery, ensuring their quality and consistency.
* Enter data into systems (e.g., SIP or others) and maintain up-to-date records.
* Handle and dispose of liquid and solid waste in accordance with regulations.
* Perform basic equipment maintenance and support their proper operation.
* Maintain order and cleanliness in the work area.
* Report deviations, anomalies, or out-of-specification results to supervisors.
**Requirements**
* Technical or university degree in Chemistry, Metallurgy, Mining, or a related field.
* Minimum 2 years of experience in a laboratory or similar roles.
* Knowledge of laboratory techniques: volumetry, gravimetry, and handling of hazardous substances.
* Basic proficiency in MS Office.
* Familiarity with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
* Health condition compatible with laboratory work and exposure to operational hazards.
* Availability to work in the Atacama and Coquimbo Regions.
* Availability to work on a shift system.
