Finning, a strategic partner of CATERPILLAR and a leader in equipment distribution and services, is searching for top talent to fulfill the role of **Technical Inspector for the Candelaria Contract**, who will be responsible for conducting technical inspections and systematic analysis of equipment condition, providing rigorous and timely information to optimize performance. The role entails coordinating and aligning corrective, maintenance, and repair actions based on observed operational variability. Additionally, the incumbent must identify deviations, non-conformities, and improvement opportunities, generating technical inputs for planning and executing future inspection-related activities, ensuring alignment with internal procedures and appropriate interaction across all involved areas. **Key Responsibilities:** * Travel to assigned equipment and ensure strict compliance with all applicable safety regulations. * Conduct technical interviews with operators to gather relevant operational background (Operator Inspection). * Review and analyze operator-completed logbooks and checklists. * Conduct field-based targeted inspections according to equipment criticality and condition. * Perform Pre-PM inspections to ensure early detection of abnormal conditions. * Conduct inspections during PM execution to validate adherence to technical guidelines. * Perform Post-PM inspections to confirm proper closure of activities and final equipment condition. * Perform Pre-PCR inspections according to the established maintenance model criteria. * Conduct Moncon inspections per the discipline-specific procedures. * Perform NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) inspections per applicable techniques and authorized competencies. * Manually download data or measurements as required by inspection type and operational needs. * Submit collected records and data to Maintenance Engineering and DEO/CT for analysis and management. * Assess priority of detected defects considering criticality, operational impact, and associated risk. * Compare identified defects against the existing AMT Kardex, verifying history and recurrence. * Identify potential conditions that could evolve into future failures. * Convert operator and technician feedback into structured backlog documents. * Generate corresponding technical requirements for the backlog. * Enter complete, accurate, and well-substantiated information into backlog documents. * Validate information recorded in the backlog, ensuring consistency with standards and field data. * Fully manage the backlog process per the Operational Model (MOM). * Advise and supervise field technicians on adherence to maintenance guidelines and contaminant control measures. * Operate SAP, Ellipse, and AMT systems for technical information registration, consultation, and management. **Application Requirements:** * Knowledge of condition monitoring strategy. * Knowledge of equipment maintenance and its applications. * Ability to interpret Gantt charts. * Understanding of scope and objectives for various inspection types (operator, targeted, Pre-PM, PM, Pre-PCR). * Completion of all skills up to Technician Level C. * Successful completion of the AMT Inspector course. * Proficiency in computer tools including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Cat Inspect, SIS, and AMT. * Familiarity with the Maintenance Operational Model (condition monitoring processes, failure and reliability analysis, continuous improvement, technical communication, backlog administration). * Knowledge of VIMS and ET. * Understanding and use of basic maintenance indicators (MTBF, MTBS, MTTR, Availability, MTBF Post PM, Service Accuracy, SW, SWS, and Working Target).
