Contribute to operational stability and plant performance **Are you ready to take the next step in your automation career?** Join Valmet as a DCS Service Engineer and become Valmet’s on-site technical representative for the Arauco Line 3 service contract for at least the first year. You will be responsible for coordinating technical support between the customer and Valmet specialists, with a strong focus on the Valmet DNA Distributed Control System (DCS), Advanced Process Controls (APC), and Mill\-Wide Optimization. In this role, you will contribute to maximizing plant performance, strengthening operational stability, and transforming improvement plans into concrete results within a demanding industrial environment. Location Arauco MAPA Plant (Line 3\), Biobío Region, Chile Employment Type Full-time Preferred Residence Concepción, San Pedro de la Paz, or nearby areas **Your Responsibilities** * Act as Valmet’s on-site technical representative under the Arauco L3 contract and serve as the primary coordination point between the customer and Valmet support teams. * Lead planning and tracking of activities related to Valmet DNA, Advanced Process Controls, and Mill\-Wide Optimization. * Implement and monitor agreed action plans to improve operational stability and plant process performance. * Analyze root causes related to process control, automation, and operational performance, identifying opportunities to optimize advanced control strategies. * Coordinate loop tuning, automation application enhancements, system configuration, upgrades, testing, commissioning, remote specialist support, training, reporting, and technical follow-up meetings with the customer. **What We Expect From You** * Bachelor’s degree in Automation, Electronics, Chemical Engineering, or related fields. * Experience with automation systems in the pulp and paper industry, including DCS programming and configuration—ideally with Valmet DNA. * Knowledge or experience in Advanced Process Controls (APC) and process optimization; experience in Mill\-Wide Optimization is highly valued. * Intermediate or higher level of English, both spoken and written; Portuguese knowledge is considered an advantage. * Willingness to travel domestically and internationally. Residence in Concepción or nearby areas is highly desirable. **Keys to Success in This Role** To excel in this position, you combine solid DCS automation expertise with hands-on experience in pulp and paper industry operations. You communicate effectively with industrial customers and coordinate local, remote, and global support teams responsibly and service-oriented. Additionally, you have practical experience with Valmet DNA, process control, APC, and optimization, and are prepared to work closely with plant operations to deliver measurable operational improvements.
