Wood is seeking a Civil Structural Engineer to join our Process & Chemicals business line. If you require any reasonable accommodation (e.g., accessibility, ramps, sign language interpreter, among others), please let us know in your application.* * Comprehensive Owner’s Engineering Support Service for Oil & Gas Projects * Ensure best practices in knowledge and skills, as well as use of computer tools (software and hardware) and international guidelines related to Owner’s Engineering * Develop structural designs for foundations, steel structures, liquid containment structures, and vibrating equipment. * Guarantee technical accuracy and integrity of design engineering. * Prepare Calculation Reports. Perform computational modeling and execute design spreadsheets. * Develop and improve the discipline through implementation of best practices in people management and methodologies * Apply current regulations. **Work Experience:** At least 10 years of experience in design and construction of industrial projects. Particularly related to the Oil, gas, chemical or energy industry. Must have experience in development and/or review of specifications and detailed engineering for Civil Works and Industrial Structures projects. Geotechnical knowledge, foundations, concrete works, steel structures, as well as solid knowledge and interpretation of drawings and applicable national and international standards for this specialty are required. **Teamwork Capability.** Results-oriented, capable of learning, leadership qualities. Strong ability to interact with third parties. **Desirable Technical Knowledge:** a) Thorough knowledge of scope and definitions of Chilean INN standards, NCh standards applicable to industrial construction in the Civil specialty, and the General Urbanism and Construction Law regarding industrial works. Specifically, requirements of NCh 2369 and NCh 433. b) Thorough knowledge of ACI-318 Design Code requirements concerning design and construction of reinforced concrete works. c) Knowledge of international structural design standards, such as AISC or Eurocode. d) Knowledge of foundation design standards for equipment and tanks per API 650 and ASME BPVC Sec VIII Div 1. e) Clear understanding of interpretation and analysis of Civil and Steel Structure drawings, enabling easy identification of stated design conditions. f) Proficiency and appropriate handling of various construction aspects of civil works, from soil mechanics studies to superstructure completion. g) Knowledge of anticorrosive coatings (industrial paints) and passive fire protection. h) Familiarity with Structural Design Standard SDS ERSA rev. 0 or higher.
