Provide environmental management advisory services to operational departments **Location:** Pica, Tarapacá, Chile **Employment Type:** Regular full-time **Work Location:** On\-site About **Quebrada Blanca** Quebrada Blanca (QB) is located in the Tarapacá Region in northern Chile, at an altitude of 4\.400 meters, approximately 240 kilometers southeast of the city of Iquique and 1\.500 kilometers from Santiago. Teck holds an indirect 60% stake in the mine. Reporting to the Environmental Superintendent, the **Environmental Manager** will be responsible for leading the company's environmental management by designing and implementing plans, systems, and procedures that ensure regulatory compliance, continuous improvement, and promotion of an environmental culture—managing budgets, audits, emergencies, and relations with authorities to guarantee sustainability and fulfillment of corporate environmental commitments. The position will be based at the Quebrada Blanca site, located in the Tarapacá Region at 4\.400 meters above sea level, operating under a 7x7 shift system. **Key Responsibilities** --------------------------------- * Be a courageous safety leader, comply with and champion safety and environmental rules, regulations, critical controls, and procedures. * Update and implement plans and procedures to meet the company’s environmental policies and objectives. * Maintain and update the Environmental Management System, monitor its performance, and promote continuous improvement. * Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and commitments established by authorities, verifying their proper implementation. * Prepare and manage the department’s budget and monitor its execution. * Advise various company departments on environmental management matters and environmental culture promotion, proactively alerting to potential non-compliances across all operational areas. * Update environmental emergency response procedures and plans according to authorizations in the RCAs and PREMs for the site. * Manage responses to formal requests from authorities and lead on-site environmental inspections. * Manage compliance with environmental measures, ensuring timely submission and uploading of required documentation to the environmental authority. * Manage internal and external audits, along with handling required information. * Support development of the company’s environmental projects. * Ensure tendering and administration of contracts with environmental service providers, ensuring proper delivery of services. **Requirements** -------------- * University degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Forestry Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. * Minimum 5 years of experience in mining environmental management roles. * Valid Class B driver’s license. * Environmental management specialization preferred. * Environmental regulations and legislation (Law 19\.300, DS 40, DS 90, DS 46, SEIA, RCA, ISO standards, and SMA regulations). * Design and tracking of environmental indicators (KPIs). * Monitoring of environmental variables and compliance plans. * Handling of environmental or sectoral inspections mandated by the SMA. **About Teck** At Teck, we value diversity.
