At Grupo Empresas Geoblast, a leader in mining services, we are seeking professionals to serve as Geotechnical Supervisors (Tailings Dump), based in the Antofagasta Region, Calama city; local talent will be prioritized for this position. **Job Objective** To supervise, coordinate, and ensure the proper execution of geotechnical activities associated with the tailings dump and leach pads, guaranteeing compliance with technical, operational, and safety standards through monitoring of geotechnical investigation campaigns, monitoring, and instrumentation—thereby contributing to structural stability and decision-making based on reliable and timely information. **Main Responsibilities** * Supervise and coordinate field activities related to the tailings dump and leach pads. * Verify compliance with geotechnical investigation programs, ensuring the quality of obtained data. * Coordinate and supervise Cone Penetration Test with pore pressure measurement (CPTu), sonic drilling, and piezometer installation campaigns, including follow-up and interpretation of results. * Supervise the execution of laboratory geotechnical testing, including: * CIU and CID triaxial tests. * Grain size analysis. * Permeability tests. * Atterberg limits. * Shear tests. * Consolidation tests. * Tests for liquefaction property determination. * Review and interpret geotechnical information to support stability analyses of tailings dumps and leach pads, considering total and effective pressure conditions. * Coordinate programs for collection, recording, and control of geotechnical information, ensuring traceability and data quality. * Supervise the implementation and operation of geotechnical instrumentation, verifying proper functioning of monitoring systems. * Promptly identify deviations or conditions that may affect the geotechnical stability of structures and report them to the client and contract management. * Prepare and maintain technical records and progress reports of executed activities. * Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards established by Minera Antucoya and the contracting company. **Requirements** Academic Qualifications * Civil Engineer. * Mining Civil Engineer. * Mining Engineer. **Experience** * Between **4 and 5 years of experience** in projects related to tailings dumps and/or leach pads. * Demonstrable experience in soil mechanics applied to mining. * Experience in supervision of geotechnical field campaigns and site work. **Technical Knowledge:** * Experience in planning, supervision, and interpretation of geotechnical investigation campaigns. * Knowledge of laboratory geotechnical testing. * Experience in geotechnical stability analysis. * Knowledge of geotechnical instrumentation and data management. * Desirable experience in geotechnical and hydro-mechanically coupled modeling. **Other Requirements** * Valid Class B driver’s license, with at least **5 years of validity**. * Experience driving within mining operations. * Availability to work on a **4x3 shift system**
