Job Description
Supervise and control the execution of activities and resources of the assigned planning team, ensuring compliance with technical procedures and operational standards for metallurgical planning across weekly, monthly, and long-term (LOM) horizons, to guarantee refined copper production commitments, optimize hydro-concentrator plant processes, and maximize business value within a culture of excellence, safety, and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities | Activities
1\. Plan the development and issuance of production plans and reports for concentrator and dump leach lines on weekly, monthly, Budget, Forecast, and LOM cycles.
2\. Coordinate the collection of baseline data (loading plans, maintenance, water, energy, and geometallurgical data) to ensure robustness of production plans.
3\. Analyze and diagnose process deviations through periodic reports, including control and management of finished products (shipments and sales).
4\. Conduct monthly and annual metallurgical reconciliations of processes.
5\. Ensure process conditions (THP, reagents, mill feed, pH, lime, acidity, and particle size distribution) support projected production.
6\. Design and maintain up-to-date process models that incorporate relevant technical or physical plant changes.
7\. Advise on and lead improvement initiatives for solution, copper, acid, and impurity balances, as well as flotation and grinding processes.
8\. Define conceptual engineering studies and business cases aimed at maximizing the Company’s NPV.
Education, Experience and Other Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering
Minimum 8 years of verified operational experience in mining plant processes (hydrometallurgy and concentrator)
Willingness to work a 4x3 shift schedule at the Caserones mine site
**Knowledge:**
Expertise in critical parameters and variables of concentration and hydrometallurgical processes.
Planning of concentrator plants and Cu-Mo / tailings processes.
Modeling of leaching processes and solution balancing.
Proficiency in advanced analytics, Machine Learning, or similar tools applied to processes.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and PI (Plant Information) system.
Valid Class B driver’s license
