Job Description Summary
The role is responsible for managing, updating, and ensuring correct application of the Maintenance Operational Model (MOM) across mining contracts, using the Caterpillar GAT (Gap Analysis Tool) as the primary tool. The focus is to identify, prioritize, and manage improvement opportunities impacting operational, financial, and customer satisfaction metrics, thereby contributing to achievement of corporate objectives.
The role serves as the technical reference for continuous improvement, coordinating audits, developing structured improvement plans, and supporting their implementation and follow-up at mining sites.
Key responsibilities include:
**Administer and evolve the Maintenance Operational Model (MOM)**, ensuring its timely updates, standardization, and correct application across mining contracts, aligned with corporate guidelines and industry best practices.
**Design, maintain, and optimize the GAT (Gap Analysis Tool) audit framework**, including evaluation criteria, weightings, and data collection methods, ensuring consistency, traceability, and value-generation focus.
**Plan and coordinate the annual GAT audit cycle**, defining long-term (annual) planning and medium-term (semi-annual) scheduling to ensure appropriate coverage of contracts, resources, and strategic priorities.
**Conduct maintenance audits at mining sites**, identifying gaps against the MOM, operational risks, and improvement opportunities impacting safety, costs, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
**Prepare, analyze, and present executive audit reports**, clearly and systematically communicating results, critical findings, root causes, and recommendations to operational teams and management levels.
**Define and prioritize improvement initiatives, projects, or action plans** for each contract based on identified deviations, evaluating their operational and financial impact and implementation feasibility in collaboration with mining contracts.
**Develop structured improvement plans** (using the 3W methodology: What, Who, When; activities, owners, timelines, SMART goals, and tracking KPIs) for each prioritized initiative, promoting cross-functional participation where applicable.
**Validate, support, and monitor implementation of contract-defined improvement plans**, ensuring proper execution, adherence to timelines, and alignment with the MOM.
**Monitor and evaluate the impact of improvement plans**, using performance indicators (KPIs), analyzing outcomes, variances, and adjustment opportunities, promoting continuous system improvement.
**Act as the technical reference for continuous improvement in maintenance**, supporting contracts in adopting best practices, process standardization, and strengthening a culture of operational excellence.
