### **Description** We’re looking for a versatile Senior Software Engineer to lead a critical technical initiative: bridging the gap between high\-performance backend services and mobile hardware. This is a hands\-on role (70–80% coding) for a systems\-minded engineer who builds with precision and purpose. Your primary mission will be to package existing, complex C\+\+ services and re\-architect them to run locally on iOS devices for a Physical AI solution. You will work at the intersection of systems programming and mobile development. **Expertise in C\+\+ is the core requirement here.** If you are a C\+\+ craftsperson who hasn't worked with Objective\-C\+\+ or iOS yet but is eager to master that domain, we want to talk to you. This is a high\-trust technical role with real scope, allowing you to shape how complex AI software interacts with the physical world. ### **What You’ll Do** * **Architect the bridge:** Design and implement the integration layer that allows sophisticated C\+\+ services to run natively on iOS devices. * **Write high\-performance code:** Maintain and optimize C\+\+ codebases, ensuring they remain efficient, stable, and clean. * **Enable intelligence on the edge:** Work with Objective\-C\+\+ to expose C\+\+ functionality to the iOS application layer. * **Optimize for constraints:** Adapt server\-grade software to respect mobile constraints, focusing on memory management, battery efficiency, and thermal performance. * **Collaborate on systems:** Work closely with the ML and infrastructure teams to define the interface between the core logic and the device. * **Mentor and shape culture:** Bring a systems\-thinking mindset to the pod, mentoring teammates on memory management, pointers, and low\-level optimization. ### **What We’re Looking For** * Fluent English communication skills, with the ability to lead technical discussions and collaborate with US\-based teams. You'll have to explain complex technical constraints to non\-technical stakeholders. * 5\+ years of experience building and shipping production systems, with a strong emphasis on systems programming. * **Deep proficiency in C\+\+ (Modern C\+\+ standards).** You understand memory management, concurrency, and performance optimization at a fundamental level. * **Mobile curiosity or experience:** Experience with Objective\-C\+\+ and iOS is a massive "nice to have," but we are open to expert C\+\+ engineers with a strong desire to learn mobile integration. * Proven ability to navigate large codebases and refactor complex logic for new environments. * Familiarity with build systems (e.g., CMake) and cross\-platform compilation challenges. * Pragmatic, self\-directed, and comfortable working in ambiguous environments where the solution isn't always obvious. ### **Benefits** * Fun team activities every month to build strong bonds. * An office in a great area, with plenty to enjoy nearby. * Snacks and drinks are always stocked in the office. * Weekly team lunches to recharge and connect. * Home office 2 days per week (Mondays and Fridays). * You’ll work closely with high\-caliber US\-based companies. * Comprehensive health and dental insurance to keep you covered. * Reimbursement for wellness activities. ### **About Andes Path** Andes Path is a Chilean–US engineering and design studio building for the frontier. We work with cutting\-edge US startups and F500 innovation teams tackling real\-world problems in robotics, AI, simulation, and infrastructure. Our clients are fast\-moving, technically ambitious, and building things that haven’t quite been built before. We operate like product teams, not outsourcing shops — with high\-trust relationships, sharp execution, and a deep respect for craft. Our team is small, low\-ego, and serious about building exceptional products. While we have a core office in Santiago, we’re remote\-friendly across the Americas. Our culture is fast\-paced, collaborative, and grounded in mentorship, clarity, and ownership.
