Develops new skills and advances professionally. **Job Description** --------------------------- The General Services Worker II assists cooks, chefs, or food service managers by preparing ingredients for recipes and performing other food preparation and service tasks. The food preparation worker must prepare food in accordance with recipes and production guidelines while adhering to food safety, food handling, and sanitation procedures. Essential job functions and responsibilities may vary by Aramark location based on client requirements and business needs. **Job Responsibilities** -------------------------------- * Prepares a variety of foods according to production guidelines and standardized recipes. * Sets up the workstation with all required ingredients and equipment. * Prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, cutting, trimming, and peeling food items. * Safely uses various utensils, including knives. * Portioning, garnishing, and arranging food according to established guidelines. * Stores food properly following food safety policies and procedures. * Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils. * Maintains excellent customer service and a positive attitude toward guests, clients, coworkers, etc. * Adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures, including proper food safety and sanitation. * Ensures the security of company assets. To fulfill our commitments, job duties may change or new ones may be assigned without formal notice. **Qualifications** ------------------- * Prior food preparation experience preferred. * Knowledge of various food preparation methods, precise knife handling, and food safety regulations such as proper food handling, sanitation, and storage. * Must be able to obtain food safety certification. * Demonstrates basic math and counting skills. * Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. This position may involve physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, walking, and standing for extended periods.
