Empower students with individualized academic and social-emotional support We are looking to hire for the position of **SOAR (Student\-Centered Opportunities for Access and Readiness) Program Learning Support Teacher** for the 2026–2027 school year, according to the following skills and qualifications. Interested candidates please send your application by May 20; position may close before that date if a suitable candidate is found. **Position Details** -------------------- * **Position Name**: SOAR Program Learning Support Teacher * **Reports to**: Director of Student Support Services * **Time commitment**: Full\-time * **Starting date:** Jul 22, 2026 **Program Overview** -------------------- The SOAR (Student\-Centered Opportunities for Access and Readiness) program is a flexible, inclusive support model designed to ensure students with higher\-level learning and social\-emotional needs can access, participate in, and progress within general education settings to the greatest extent possible. Participation in the program aligns individualized goals, targeted instruction, and accommodations with Chilean inclusion laws, including Ley TEA. The program uses a dynamic staffing approach guided by a SOAR Program Learning Support Teacher in addition to push\-in, small\-group, and individualized support provided by qualified assistant teachers. Overall, SOAR prioritizes strengths\-based, student\-centered practices that integrate academic, social\-emotional, and regulation supports. **The position** ---------------- The **SOAR Program Learning Support Teacher** serves as the program lead and case manager for this flexible support model, ensuring that students with higher\-level learning and social\-emotional/self\-regulation needs receive coordinated, individualized, and inclusive support. This role facilitates collaborative partnership amongst general education, student support services, families, and external providers to ensure alignment between instruction, intervention, and individualized goals. **School Mission** ------------------ **International School Nido de Aguilas** empowers learners to **CONNECT** authentically, **EXPLORE** with curiosity, and **ACT** with purpose. **School Core Values** ---------------------- Suitable candidates will demonstrate our core values of Kindness • Respect • Responsibility • Integrity• Belonging • Positivity **Portrait of a Nido Learner** ------------------------------ Nido Learners are * Connectors * Thinkers * Inquirers * Designers * Changemakers **Qualifications and Experience** --------------------------------- * Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or training as a Educador Diferencial (*Masters Level preferred*). * Teaching qualification in Special Education or a related field from an accredited university/college. * At least 3 years of teaching experience as a Learning Support teacher/ Educador Diferencial. * Experience interpreting results of psychological educational and reports from external specialists (i.e. Occupational Therapy, Speech \& Language evaluations). * Skill and experience identifying \& removing barriers to learning and providing evidenced\-based intervention for a wide range of learning and social\-emotional/self\-regulation needs. * Experience adjusting curricular learning outcomes to meet students individualized needs. * Ability to write comprehensive Individualized Learning Plans (ILPs)/ Plan de Apoyo Curricular Individualizado (PACI) for a variety of neurodivergent students. * Experience facilitating \& leading a team in strength\-based, student\-centered, and inclusive approaches. * Knowledge and ability to use a range of strategies to assess learning for planning, progress monitoring and reporting purposes, along with the use of and ability to support others in data\-based decision making. * Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a highly collaborative environment. * Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English and Spanish. * Previous experience working within an international school or multi\-cultural setting *preferred.* **Skills, Attitudes, and Dispositions** --------------------------------------- * Passionate about providing a safe, inclusive learning environment where children thrive. * Ability to establish and maintain strong partnerships between school and home. * A positive disposition that is solution focused. * Ability to support students' capacity to become independent, thoughtful learners. * Collaborative and able to work with different teams. **Main Duties and Responsibilities** ------------------------------------ **SOAR Program Point\-Person and Case Management** * + Serve as the primary case manager for students in the SOAR program. + Make recommendations for students referred to and exiting from the SOAR program. + Develop, monitor, and revise ILPs and individualized support plans for students within the SOAR program in line with Chilean legal requirements and in the best interest of the student. + Coordinate support service delivery across teachers, teaching assistants, and specialists. + Ensure alignment between instruction, assessment, and individualized goals. **Instructional Responsibilities** * Design and implement: + Small\-group instruction (literacy, math, executive functioning, social skills) + Individualized (1:1\) instruction for students requiring more personalized and specialized instruction, including students working towards modified curriculum outcomes + Provide pre\-teaching, re\-teaching, and skill building aligned with classroom content and learning objectives + Other responsibilities, as identified by the DSS or other member of the ALT **Inclusive Practices and Collaboration** * Collaborate with classroom teachers to: + Adapt instruction to increase inclusive pedagogical approaches and plan to remove barriers to learning + Support the implementation of classroom and assessment accommodations * Lead student centered and solution focused conversations around student support delivery to meet learners’ individualized needs **Regulation and Social\-Emotional Support** * Design and implement: + Self\-regulation plans and strategies + Social skills instruction * Support students in developing self\-advocacy, flexible thinking, and emotional regulation **Data and Progress Monitoring** * Collect and analyze data (academic, behavioral, regulation) * Monitor student progress toward individualized goals * Use data based decisions to adjust instruction and supports **Family Communication** * Serve as the primary liaison for families with students * Communicate progress, strategies, and updates * Facilitate meetings and collaborative planning *International School Nido de Aguilas is an equal opportunity employer.
