Optimize system performance and efficient resource utilization **Confial Consultores**July 24, 2026 ### **Uncategorized** #### **Key Points** Puerto Montt Full\-time To be agreed upon Indefinite term Vacancies: 1 #### **Job Posting Details** ### **Job Responsibilities** A leading global company’s major processing plant requires a Machine Room Operator to join its team. **Machine Room Operator \- Chiloé** **Job Objective:** Operate, control, and support the proper functioning of the plant’s refrigeration and air conditioning systems during production processes, maintaining required temperatures and conditions for product preservation and appropriate industrial process execution. **Main Responsibilities:** * Operate and monitor the plant’s industrial refrigeration equipment. * Monitor the operation of compressors, condensers, evaporators, and other components of the refrigeration system. * Verify temperatures, pressures, and other operational parameters using thermometers, pressure gauges, and other measuring instruments. * Identify and promptly report equipment malfunctions, misalignments, or deviations. * Maintain records and oversight of all operations performed in the machine room. * Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance tasks in accordance with established procedures. * Support equipment repair in case of failures or breakdowns, contributing to operational continuity. * Coordinate startup, operation, and shutdown of equipment required by the production process. * Ensure refrigeration system operations comply with current environmental and safety regulations. * Supervise and coordinate work carried out by technicians or external service providers. * Propose improvements to optimize equipment performance and efficient resource utilization, especially energy. ### **Job Requirements** Requirements: Technical training in Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, Electromechanics, or related fields. Minimum two years of experience operating and maintaining industrial or commercial refrigeration systems. Knowledge and experience with ammonia- and/or freon-based refrigeration systems. Familiarity with compressor, condenser, and evaporator operation. Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical diagrams. Proficiency in using measurement tools and instruments such as thermometers and pressure gauges. Completion of refrigeration-related courses or certifications, or ammonia safety handling certification, is desirable. Availability to work rotating shifts.
