This role focuses on integrating various engineering disciplines—including geosciences, mine design, technology, and operations—with emphasis on identifying, evaluating, and managing risks, ensuring the technical feasibility, safety, and sustainability of current and future mine developments, while complying with—and ensuring compliance with—Division and Corporation policies, standards, and procedures related to safety, occupational health, environment, and diversity and inclusion. **Because here your talents will serve Chile!** **Main Responsibilities:** * Develop engineering studies during early project stages (conceptual, pre-feasibility, feasibility) for underground mining projects. * Actively participate in identifying, evaluating, and managing technical risks—particularly in contexts of high geotechnical and operational uncertainty. * Provide cross-functional support to various management lines (geosciences, mine design, technology and innovation). * Generate and lead independent initiatives that add value to the Division, aligned with GEM’s purpose. * Contribute to defining technical criteria, standards, and methodologies for decision-making in deep mining. * Integrate technical information from various disciplines to support the Division’s strategic decisions. * Participate in technical-economic evaluations (CAPEX/OPEX) of development alternatives. * Support the review and analysis of underground construction designs (layout, mining methods, construction sequences). * Collaborate in incorporating new technologies and practices into underground mining. * Coordinate with internal and external teams. **Application Requirements:** * Hold a degree in Civil Mining Engineering and/or Industrial Engineering and/or a related specialty. * Have at least six years of professional experience in mining. * Have at least three years of professional experience managing mining projects. * Hold a valid Class B driver’s license. * Be in good health compatible with the position. **Desirable Qualifications:** * Completion of postgraduate studies and/or specialized certification in Project Management. * Experience in identifying, evaluating, and managing risks in engineering projects. * Intermediate or higher level of English proficiency. * Participation in various engineering stages of projects. * Experience implementing a Project Management Office (PMO) or standardizing processes. * Experience in CAPEX estimation. **Offered Conditions:** * Contract type: Indefinite-term. * Contractual position: Specialist Engineer. * Work location: Rancagua (no camp accommodation). * Working schedule: Monday to Thursday. * Number of vacancies: 1\. **Application Deadline: Wednesday, May 20, 2026\.** Application closing time: 23:59 hrs. “I hereby declare that I am fully aware of the conditions—according to Codelco regulations—that may constitute an incompatibility for holding the position to which I am applying and, consequently, affect my continuity in the selection process.
