Currently, we are seeking a Technical Communicator to join our Asset team, working on a 5x2 schedule from Monday to Friday, with availability to travel to our various sites and operations. The primary objective of this role is to provide specialized technical support to maintenance areas by managing and administering technical information for mining equipment from various manufacturers, acting as the single point of contact between Thiess and OEMs to resolve technical inquiries, analyze information, and generate recommendations that improve fleet performance, availability, and reliability. **Key Responsibilities:** * Provide technical support to maintenance areas, resolving inquiries using official manufacturer (OEM) manuals and documentation. * Administer and maintain up-to-date technical documentation, including manual libraries, service letters, and manufacturer publications, evaluating their applicability in operations. * Manage and document technical inquiries and critical cases, building a knowledge base that promotes learning and continuous improvement. * Develop recommendations, technical instructions, and documentation aimed at improving equipment availability, reliability, and performance. * Collaborate with maintenance and reliability teams to identify improvement opportunities and standardize technical best practices. **Requirements:** * Education: Higher Technical Diploma, Bachelor of Engineering (Execution), or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or related field. * Experience: Maintenance, repair, and technical support of mining equipment; experience with hydraulic shovels and OEM/factory collaboration is desirable. * Technical Knowledge: Advanced interpretation of service manuals, parts manuals, hydraulic and electrical diagrams and schematics; advanced technical English. * Certifications: Manufacturer-specific technical training or certification (e.g., CAT) is desirable. * Availability: Residence in Santiago or Antofagasta, and availability to work a 5x2 schedule with periodic site visits. **Legal Notice** If you are selected for a position at Thiess, your employment will be contingent upon successfully completing and passing an alcohol/drug test and an occupational medical examination for high-altitude work, as well as verification of the information, certifications, and qualifications provided during the selection process.
