




Job Summary: R&Q Engineering is seeking a Safety Engineer to ensure the safety and well-being of personnel at a PV+BESS construction site, by implementing safety protocols and conducting inspections. Collaboration with managers and supervisors to ensure safety compliance R\&Q Engineering, an engineering and project management firm with over 45 years of experience, is currently seeking a **Safety Engineer** to join a major energy sector tender process in the Coquimbo Region! **Estimated duration of the tendered contract: 8 months.** Requirements: * A university graduate holding a degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Sciences, or a related field. Professional certification as a Safety Expert issued by Chile’s National Health Service (S.N.S.) * Minimum of 8 years of general professional experience since graduation. Specific experience required (mandatory): * As Safety Coordinator/Manager or similar role in the construction industry (minimum 8 years) * In-depth knowledge of construction safety regulations, standards, and practices * Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey safety requirements and procedures to diverse audiences * English proficiency is desirable * Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing safety concerns * Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic construction environment, effectively prioritizing tasks * Proficiency in Microsoft tools Key Responsibilities: * The Safety Engineer plays a fundamental role in ensuring the safety and well-being of all personnel working on the PV\+BESS construction site. * Responsible for implementing and enforcing safety protocols, conducting regular inspections, delivering safety training, and investigating incidents to prevent accidents and injuries. * Conduct regular safety inspections at the PV\+BESS construction site, identify hazards, and coordinate corrective actions with contractors to mitigate risks * Supervise and enforce proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) by all personnel on site * Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses; document findings and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence * Collaborate with project managers, supervisors, and subcontractors to address safety concerns and ensure compliance with requirements * Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, incident reports, and safety equipment inspections * Conduct safety talks and meetings to promote a culture of awareness and continuous improvement * Coordinate with stakeholders and participate in safety audits and inspections as required **Desired Profile** ------------------ * A university graduate holding a degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Sciences, or a related field.
