Quebrada Blanca (QB) is located in the Tarapacá Region in northern Chile, at an altitude of 4\.400 meters, approximately 240 kilometers southeast of the city of Iquique and 1\.500 kilometers from Santiago. Teck holds an indirect 60% stake in the mine. Sumitomo Metal Mining Co., Ltd. and Sumitomo Corporation jointly hold an indirect 30% stake.

Reporting to the Mine Maintenance Superintendent, the **Maintenance Workshop Manager** will be responsible for leading and managing field-based mobile equipment maintenance activities, ensuring operational availability, reliability, and continuity through coordination of the Integrated Mine Maintenance Plan, monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs), process optimization, and inventory management—while ensuring compliance with HSEC standards and operational efficiency.
This position will be based at the Quebrada Blanca operation, located in the Tarapacá Region at 4\.400 meters above sea level, operating on a 7x7 shift system.
**Key Responsibilities**
---------------------------------
* Be a courageous safety leader; comply with and champion safety and environmental rules, regulations, critical controls, and procedures.
* Lead and manage a multidisciplinary field-based team of electrical and mechanical mobile equipment maintenance technicians, ensuring achievement of the Superintendent’s objectives.
* Coordinate execution of the Integrated Mine Maintenance Plan by planning and scheduling preventive and corrective maintenance activities according to the mine’s operational conditions.
* Supervise maintenance activities across the entire mine, including mobile equipment and infrastructure, among others.
* Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to equipment availability, reliability, and utilization.
* Optimize maintenance plans by implementing continuous improvement programs and maintenance management systems (CMMS) to maximize equipment availability and reduce costs.
* Coordinate with Planning, Reliability, Integrated Operations, and Materials Management to ensure execution of maintenance activities and operational continuity.
* Manage spare parts and consumables inventory for the entire mine.
* Manage maintenance-related risks at the mine, ensuring compliance with critical Health, Safety, Environment, and Community (HSEC) controls.
**Requirements**
--------------
* Civil Engineer or Mechanical/Electrical Technician.
* Minimum 6 years’ experience in high-tonnage loading equipment maintenance.
* Class B driver’s license (mandatory)
* Availability to work regular 7x7 shifts at the Quebrada Blanca operation.
Knowledge:
* Full mining extraction cycle: drilling, blasting, loading, and hauling.
* Mobile mining equipment maintenance (mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems).
* Planning and control of major maintenance shutdowns.
* Proficiency in maintenance management software (SAP PM, Maximo, etc.).
* Root cause analysis (RCA) and equipment reliability (RCM).
* Maintenance KPIs.
