




Job Summary: We are seeking Civil Engineers to design large-scale earthworks, lead civil design teams, apply standards, and optimize solutions in mining projects. Key Responsibilities: 1. Design of large-scale earthworks for mining projects. 2. Lead teams of Civil Designers. 3. Collaborate across disciplines and optimize designs. Our team in Chile is growing, and we are currently recruiting Civil Engineers to join our business line in the Santiago office. **About the Role** * Be part of Ausenco Chile’s Civil Discipline. * Develop large-scale earthworks designs, defining governing design criteria based on soil physicochemical, geotechnical, and geophysical properties, as well as applicable national and international codes and standards. * Design earthworks associated primarily with leach pads, waste dumps, retaining walls, roads, ponds, and mining process plants. * Lead and provide technical guidance and information to a team of Civil Designers who will develop 3D models using Autodesk and/or Bentley CAD platforms, producing deliverables such as design criteria, technical specifications, plan and profile drawings, cross-sections, earthworks details, 3D surface models, trade-off studies based on volumetric analysis of alternatives, among others. * Know, apply, and maintain consistent design standards across projects, based on applicable design codes and industry best practices. * Support projects by collaborating with designers and engineers across all disciplines. * Generate design alternatives based on optimization of earthworks and associated materials. * Prepare Material Take-Offs (MTOs) for completed designs. * Prepare topographic review reports for survey data supplied by clients or third parties. * Assume responsibility as Civil Discipline Lead on projects, identifying discipline scope, required deliverables list, estimating hours and resources needed to meet required quality and timelines, and ensuring optimal team performance on projects. * Review and manage 3D models created by designers in AutoCAD Civil 3D or Inroads. **About You** * Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (Civil Works) or equivalent. * 0–15+ years of experience designing large-scale earthworks for pads, dumps, roads, walls, ponds, process plants, remediation works, structures, etc. * 0–15+ years of experience in civil design and/or construction for industrial or transportation infrastructure. * 0–15+ years coordinating the Civil Discipline in multidisciplinary projects. * Knowledge of Geotechnics. * Intermediate–Advanced knowledge of surveying and geodetic systems. * Intermediate–Advanced Microsoft Office. * Knowledge and proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Inroads (Desired – Not mandatory). * Experience in long-distance pipeline alignments (concentrate ducts, tailings ducts, aqueducts, gas pipelines, oil pipelines, etc.) (Desired – Not mandatory). * Intermediate to Advanced English language proficiency (Desired – Not mandatory). **Why Ausenco?** We support individual growth and aim to enable you to work in a way that leverages your strengths and meets your needs.
