About the Role
At **TALF Engineering and Infrastructure Solutions**, we develop and support engineering and infrastructure projects aimed at improving the reliability, safety, and performance of electrical and industrial systems.
We are currently seeking a **Power Systems Engineer** to join our team in Concepción. The selected candidate will participate in the analysis, design, evaluation, and optimization of power systems, working on projects related to distribution, transmission, industrial facilities, and energy.
We seek a professional with solid technical experience, analytical capability, and sound judgment to assess electrical network behavior, identify risks, and propose solutions that ensure safe, efficient, and reliable systems.

Key Responsibilities
**Electrical System Studies:** Conduct and review load flow, short-circuit, protection coordination, and stability studies as required.
**Electrical Design:** Participate in the design and review of distribution systems, substations, feeders, and other electrical installations.
**Electrical Protection:** Analyze protection schemes, relay settings, and coordination among protective devices.
**Power Quality:** Evaluate parameters such as harmonics, power factor, voltage fluctuations, and other relevant variables.
**Capacity Analysis:** Review demand, installed load, and available capacity to support expansions or new projects.
**Technical Documentation:** Prepare calculation reports, specifications, single-line diagrams, engineering reports, and recommendations.
**Project Review:** Evaluate technical documentation prepared by contractors, suppliers, and other disciplines.
**Commissioning:** Participate in testing, energization, and commissioning of electrical installations when required.
**Fault Resolution:** Analyze electrical events, outages, and abnormal conditions to identify root causes and corrective actions.
**Technical Coordination:** Collaborate with internal teams, clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure compliance with technical requirements.
What We Are Looking For
**Experience:** Ideally 4–7 years of experience in power systems, electrical engineering, energy, distribution, transmission, or industrial facilities.
**Education:** Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.
**Power Systems:** Solid knowledge of load flow, short-circuit analysis, protection systems, transformers, motors, and distribution systems.
**Specialized Software:** Experience with ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSS/E, SKM, or other electrical analysis tools.
**Technical Interpretation:** Ability to review single-line diagrams, electrical drawings, specifications, and calculation reports.
**Protection Systems:** Knowledge of relays, circuit breakers, and protection coordination principles.
**Analysis Skills:** Ability to interpret technical results and develop clear, well-founded recommendations.
**Communication:** Ability to explain technical conclusions to professionals from diverse disciplines.
Desirable Qualifications
* Experience in industrial, energy, or infrastructure projects.
* Advanced proficiency in ETAP or DIgSILENT PowerFactory.
* Experience in protection coordination studies.
* Knowledge of power quality.
* Experience with electrical substations.
* Knowledge of medium- and high-voltage systems.
* Experience in testing and commissioning.
* Familiarity with Chilean electrical regulations and IEC or IEEE standards.
* Experience working with SCADA systems or electrical automation.
* Intermediate or advanced technical English for reviewing manuals, standards, and international documentation.
