Job Summary\*\*
The Laboratory Analyst \- Microbiology is responsible for performing microbiological analyses of food samples according to established procedures, ensuring food quality and safety.
Job Responsibilities\*\*
* Prepare samples and culture media for microbiological analysis.
* Perform microbial counts (bacteria, yeasts, molds) and identify pathogens in various food matrices.
* Operate and maintain laboratory equipment such as autoclaves, incubators, and microscopes.
* Interpret and record analytical results accurately and promptly.
* Comply with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
* Participate in implementing and maintaining the laboratory’s quality management system.
* Collaborate on investigations of non-conformities and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
* Maintain a clean and organized work area.
* Report any anomalies or deviations from expected results to the supervisor.
Job Qualifications\*\*
* University degree or technical diploma in Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, Food Engineering, or a related field.
* Minimum one year of prior experience in a microbiological testing laboratory, preferably within the food industry.
* Solid knowledge of microbial cultivation, isolation, and identification techniques.
* Familiarity with food safety regulations and standards (e.g., ISO 17025, HACCP).
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
* Attention to detail and high accuracy in work.
* Proficiency with standard computer applications (Microsoft Office).
* Availability to work shifts if required.
