We’re seeking a **Staff Data Scientist** to lead our Growth Engine, operating directly from our office in Chile with global impact. This professional will be the technical leader for our user acquisition, activation, and retention—and will own the experimental roadmap that drives our business. You’ll work side-by-side with our teams in the U.S., bridging the gap between advanced mathematics, GenAI innovation, and real-world commercial revenue. Your mandate is to **double the growth curve**, leveraging rigorous experimentation and cutting-edge GenAI tools to accelerate how quickly we learn—and how fast we grow. ### **What You’ll Drive** * **Ownership of the Growth Engine:** You won’t just extract data—you’ll define our metrics. You’ll design the architecture for high-velocity A/B testing that drives conversion and reduces churn. * **GenAI at Production Scale:** We don’t just talk about AI—you’ll leverage LLMs (Large Language Models) and GenAI frameworks to automate insights, prototype predictive models, and build pipelines that do the heavy lifting for you. * **Lead with Data:** You’ll be a key voice in shaping our data-driven roadmap; you’ll collaborate directly with U.S.-based Engineering, Marketing, and Design leaders to implement ML-driven features (e.g., predictive lead scoring, dynamic onboarding). * **Production Deployment:** There are no “lab-only” models here—you’ll build, deploy, and monitor your models in production environments. ### **What You’ll Bring** * **Advanced English proficiency is mandatory.** You’ll debate ideas with VP-level stakeholders in the U.S. The ability to articulate complex technical concepts is critical. * Availability to work hybrid in Santiago: 3 days in-office and 2 remote. * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or equivalent highly preferred. * **8+ years of experience** in Data Science or ML, ideally in high-growth B2B SaaS or fast-paced tech environments. * Strong command of **Python, SQL**, and modern **MLOps** and **CI/CD for data** practices. * Solid foundation in **mathematics and/or statistical modeling**—critical for designing robust experiments and building effective ML models. * Proven track record designing and executing high-impact experiments that move key growth metrics. * Practical experience (or deep passion) leveraging **GenAI tools** to accelerate data exploration, prototype faster, and automate repetitive workflows. * You move fast; you prefer launching and learning; you love speed, creative data wrangling, and challenging assumptions. ### **What You’ll Get** * Indefinite-term employment contract. * Competitive salary in CLP. * Health, life, and dental insurance for you and your family. * Annual $3,000 USD bonus for learning and development. * RSUs. * 5 additional vacation days. **What you get** * A collaborative and fast-moving environment * Be part of an international company based in the United States * Learning and development reimbursement allowance * Competitive compensation and opportunity for professional and personal advancement * 100% medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees and dependents * Additional vacation benefits of 5 extra days and flexibility to take time off *At Checkr, we believe a hybrid work environment strengthens collaboration, drives innovation, and encourages connection.
