Ensures compliance with high technical and safety standards **Position Summary – Project Engineer** **Location:** Maipú, Chile **Company:** Nestlé Chile **Site:** Maipú Factory **Business Area:** Technical / Engineering / Projects **Working Hours:** Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM \- 100% on-site **Education:** Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related disciplines **Position Purpose** At Nestlé, we are looking for **Project Engineers** for the **Maipú Factory Projects Team**, whose primary objective is to comprehensively manage industrial investment/CAPEX projects—from conceptualization and business case development, through design and engineering, to execution, installation, commissioning, and startup. This position will focus on projects related to new production lines, infrastructure, industrial utilities, operational improvements, safety, compliance, and factory-specific needs—ensuring adherence to the company’s technical, quality, safety, and hygienic engineering standards. **A Day in the Life of…** * Manage a portfolio of industrial projects across various phases—from conceptual studies through execution, commissioning, and startup. * Coordinate CAPEX projects related to new production lines, infrastructure, industrial utilities, and plant improvements. * Participate in identifying investment opportunities or improvement needs within the factory. * Develop and/or contribute to business cases for strategic or operational projects. * Coordinate suppliers, contractors, and third parties—ensuring adherence to timelines, technical standards, safety, and quality. * Interact with internal factory stakeholders—including Production, Maintenance, Quality, Safety, Engineering, and Management teams. * Maintain communication with international suppliers and regional/global teams as required by the project. * Ensure projects are executed according to Nestlé standards, incorporating sound engineering practices, hygienic engineering, compliance, and safety. **What Will Make You Successful** * Hold a degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. * Have approximately **5 to 10 years** of professional experience managing industrial projects. * Have experience with CAPEX projects, investment projects, project engineering, or project management in manufacturing plants. * Have managed projects end-to-end, ideally from conceptual stage through startup. * Have experience in food, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), manufacturing, or similar production environments. * Possess knowledge of or exposure to hygienic engineering, safety standards, quality, and compliance. * Be capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously—with strong organizational, planning, and tracking skills. * Have experience coordinating suppliers, contractors, or external companies. * Demonstrate intermediate-advanced to advanced English proficiency—enabling participation in meetings, delivering presentations, and communicating effectively with international suppliers or teams. * Excel in effective communication, proactivity, adaptability, results orientation, and influence without direct authority. * Additional qualifications such as diplomas, postgraduate degrees, or certifications in project management, PMO, PMP, or similar will be valued.
