Job Description **Purpose:** Develop engineering and construction projects, including design, construction, commissioning, and start-up phases. Responsible for generating necessary estimates to ensure proper project progress, with a focus on EPC and EPCM projects, coordinating across departments to identify deviations. Report status updates and maintain current performance indicators. Provide expertise on costs, schedule, and risks to support sound investment decision-making. Collaborate on portfolio evaluation and control, applying advanced techniques such as risk analysis and simulations/calculations to enable accurate and timely decisions in business portfolio development—considering economic value, risk, and Anglo American’s sustainability aspects. **Key Responsibilities:** * Prepare and update cost estimates at various stages of engineering and construction projects (engineering, execution, and start-up). * Analyze key cost, productivity, schedule, and risk variables to support investment decision-making. * Review estimation bases, budgets, and technical and economic proposals from contractors and suppliers. * Coordinate with engineering, projects, finance, and supply chain departments to ensure consistency in scope, cost, and timelines. * Prepare estimation and scenario reports and presentations for senior management. * Actively participate in investment assurance processes, CAPEX reviews, and base budget controls. * Identify, assess, and communicate project deviations, risks, and opportunities, proposing mitigation measures. * Contribute to continuous improvement of estimation processes, standards, and databases, promoting lessons learned capture. Requirements **Education:** Professional degree in Industrial Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering (Civil Works), Mechanical Civil Engineering, Electrical Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Civil Construction, Civil Engineering (with specialization in construction, structures, or projects), or a related field aligned with project and construction management. * **Experience:** * Minimum 7 years’ experience in engineering and/or construction projects within the mining sector. * At least 4 years’ experience in cost estimation.
