Visible, autonomous role with exposure to leadership and EU institutions. **Communications Manager (Region I \- Brussels)** ================================================= FIA Region I represents mobility clubs across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, advocating for affordable, safe and sustainable mobility. As part of its ongoing strategic evolution, FIA Region I is strengthening its communications function. The Communications Manager will lead this function – combining strategic communications, editorial leadership, media relations and digital campaigns – to ensure the organisation’s priorities are communicated clearly and consistently to Member Clubs, policymakers, media and partners. **Role****purpose** Reporting to the DG, the Communications Manager develops and delivers FIA Region I’s communications activities and advises on messaging and institutional positioning. The role combines strategic thinking with hands\-on delivery, translating complex mobility and policy issues into clear, credible communications. It does not involve line management but carries functional responsibility for the communications portfolio. **Reports to:** Director General, FIA Region I **Works closely with:** FIA Communications Department \& FIA Region I teams **MISSIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:** * Develop and implement an annual communications strategy aligned with FIA Region I’s priorities, advising the DG on messaging, positioning and opportunities to increase visibility and influence among policymakers, Member Clubs and media. * Lead editorial planning and content production across all channels – website, newsletters, speeches, talking points, institutional reports and thought\-leadership pieces – translating complex policy issues into clear, engaging messages. * Strengthen engagement with Member Clubs and institutional stakeholders, coordinate communications around key policy developments and events, and support the DG in preparing for public interventions. * Develop and maintain media relationships, prepare press releases and statements, coordinate media enquiries, and advise the DG on the communications implications of sensitive or reputational issues. * Manage and grow FIA Region I’s digital channels (website, newsletters, social media), oversee campaign development with Member Clubs and external partners, and monitor digital performance to improve effectiveness. * Lead communications planning for major FIA Region I meetings and events, from invitations and announcements to speaking materials and post\-event follow\-up. * Act as the principal working\-level contact with the FIA Communications Department, ensuring consistent use of tools, templates, branding and messaging across Region I. * Monitor and report on the reach, engagement and effectiveness of communications activities, using data and feedback to continuously improve performance. **PROFILE:** * At least 5 years’ relevant experience in communications, public affairs or a related field, ideally in an international, policy\-oriented environment. * Proven track record advising senior leadership and producing high\-quality content for varied audiences and channels. * Excellent written and spoken English, with strong media relations and stakeholder\-management skills. * Experience in EU affairs, mobility, transport or advocacy is an advantage. * Strategic yet hands\-on, autonomous, proactive and comfortable in an international, politically sensitive environment. **What****we****offer** * A visible, autonomous role with direct exposure to the DG, FIA leadership, Member Clubs and EU institutions. * The opportunity to shape and grow FIA Region I’s communications function. * An international working environment with exposure to stakeholders across EMEA. * Competitive employment conditions, including 30 days of annual leave and a comprehensive benefits package. **This position is based at the FIA Region I offices in Brussels.** **Deadline to apply: September 9th, 2026** **If you are interested in this position, please send your CV and motivation letter in PDF format.** **The FIA is an equal opportunity employer committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce.** **We welcome s from all qualified candidates.**
