Job Description **Purpose of the Role:** Manage shift-based cathode operations activities to meet production planning and performance indicators, focusing on efficiency, risk control, quality, and sustainability, aligned with the Anglo American Operating Model. 4x4 day and night shift pattern. **Responsibilities:** * Coordinate shift personnel activities at the Cathode Plant according to defined planning, assigning tasks based on individual competencies and facilitating required resources for execution, achieving daily and weekly objectives under established Company standards. * Supervise correct execution of assigned functions, ensuring achievement of operational objectives, performance indicators, and established efficiency, safety, and sustainability standards, in accordance with the Anglo American Operating Model. * Lead identification and management of risks arising during unit activities, ensuring implementation of associated control measures for each identified risk. * Apply required corrective actions to resolve or address contingencies related to safety, procedures, logistics, and coordination with other areas. * Coordinate with internal and external teams involved in operational activities to execute required actions, avoiding conflicts with maintenance or other activities that could delay operations. * Manage service contracts for the Cathode Plant, ensuring service quality meets planned requirements and promptly flagging any deviations. * Manage the shift under supervision, planning vacations and leave, and ensuring compliance with all applicable legal regulations regarding directly employed personnel. * Analyze fieldwork procedures and implement change management, if necessary, recommending improvements and tracking the process through its various approval levels. * Supervise maintenance shift work, conditions, and regulatory requirements related to risk, sustainability, quality, and occupational health, verifying compliance with standards, reporting incidents, investigating accidents or incidents within the work area, determining root causes and responsibilities, defining corrective actions, and developing improvement programs — all while adhering to Company standards and procedures. * Control shift handover, completing the logbook and highlighting completed or ongoing activities, participating personnel, and critical documentation supporting each activity, as well as operational results — facilitating seamless transition to the incoming shift. * Develop the Cathode Plant operations team by facilitating acquisition of knowledge and competencies related to maintenance activities. **Health and Safety:** Primary responsibility for consistently applying and enforcing health and safety principles across all activities within the SHE WAY management system specialty, assuming responsibility for both personal and others’ safety to ensure “zero harm” and elimination of fatalities, identifying area-specific risks. Additionally, implement and comply with specific plans/systems, act as a role model, and reinforce a workplace culture where health and safety are paramount, evaluating team members’ commitment and verifying compliance with safety requirements. **Social and Sustainability:** Execute sustainability-related activities relevant to the process and established in the Asset Life Plan to improve sustainability performance over time, fulfilling commitments under the Sustainable Mining Plan and complying with applicable environmental and social requirements for the specialty. **People and Teams:** Act in alignment with and support development of a high-performance organizational culture focused on objective achievement, acting as a role model and actively participating as a team member across all processes, setting clear and consistent expectations, implementing personnel and contractor management processes, and developing team members through training and feedback. Compliance: · Adhere to local external and Anglo American compliance requirements, treating them as a minimum performance standard and ensuring team compliance. Furthermore, adhere to compliance governance within the team. Requirements * Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent process-related discipline, with 2 years of experience. * Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering (Professional Track), Chemical Engineering, or equivalent process-related discipline, with 5 years of experience. * Postgraduate studies in Mining Management, Continuous Improvement, and/or Process Engineering (desirable). **Technical Knowledge:** * Operations: Knowledge of cathode or hydrometallurgical operational processes, including Control Rooms. * Management: Risk management and critical controls techniques. Leadership tools to foster goal-oriented, high-performance, and change-management cultures. * Compliance: Requirements related to safety, health, environment, legislation, regulation, permits, and statutory obligations.
