The role must add business value through flawless, high-quality execution of the maintenance plan—grounded in solid technical expertise, timely and accurate fault detection, and clear adherence to defined deadlines. The Qualified Maintenance Technician – Mechanical must be capable of diagnosing faults and performing technically complex repairs, demonstrating autonomy and mastery across multifunctional tasks. They contribute to continuous improvement by sharing knowledge with peers and actively participating in developing maintenance guidelines and technical standards. **Because here your talents will serve Chile!** **Main Responsibilities:** * Ensure compliance with internal procedures, regulations, and instructions established for maintenance execution in the Division, as well as quality, occupational health and safety, and environmental standards (maintain order and cleanliness in preventive and corrective maintenance areas). * Monitor and manage consumption of spare parts and components used during maintenance activities, ensuring traceability, proper usage, and waste prevention, while promoting care of assigned tools. * Report failures of spare parts or components promptly to the supervisor and generate corresponding records for proper management. * Actively participate in root cause analyses (RCA) of failures occurring during the shift, contributing technical knowledge and relevant background information to identify root causes. * Verify that assets operate within defined standards—especially regarding key symptomatic variables (temperatures, vibrations, pressures, etc.)—and report deviations. * Keep technical documentation for equipment under responsibility up to date, particularly concerning spare parts usage and intervention records, entering information into the Division’s operational system. * Manage and maintain order, functionality, and conditions in the maintenance workshop, including safeguarding critical tools and materials. * Support implementation of the winter plan, especially equipment relocation due to weather conditions, ensuring safe and timely equipment storage. * Generate SAP notifications, complying with quality requirements set forth by SOMA. * Collaborate in preparing technical reports on spare parts and component management, providing reliable data and relevant operational observations. * Identify and control substandard risk conditions onsite, correcting them as appropriate—particularly regarding order and cleanliness, waste management, and reporting unsafe conditions (“fatal traps”). * Coordinate operational actions with other process areas to foster collaborative work and operational continuity. * Monitor and maintain equipment operational variables within established parameters to ensure continuity of the production program. * Efficiently manage allocated resources (time, materials, tools), optimizing their use to improve maintenance-related productivity indicators. * Strictly comply with Codelco Andina Division’s policies, standards, and procedures on safety, occupational health, environment, and gender equity (Standard 3262), fostering an environment of respect, inclusion, and collaboration.
