Reporting to the Superintendent of Electrical, Instrumentation and Control Processes, the **General Electrical, Instrumentation and Control Processes Manager** will be responsible for leading and organizing electrical, instrumentation, automation, and process control maintenance activities for plant equipment and facilities, ensuring maximum availability and operational reliability of power systems, critical drives—including the SAG mill drive—electrical protection systems, control networks, and supervisory systems, in compliance with the company’s safety, health, environmental, industrial cybersecurity, and operational management standards, policies, and procedures. The position is based at the Carmen de Andacollo operation under a rotating shift schedule of **4x3/5x2 (rotating weekly)**. Our site does not operate a camp; however, shuttle buses are provided from Coquimbo and La Serena. **Key Responsibilities** --------------------------------- * Be a courageous safety leader; comply with and champion safety and environmental rules and procedures. * Oversee scheduled, preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs for plant electrical, instrumentation, automation, and process control systems. * Ensure the availability, reliability, and integrity of power systems, substations, switchgear, transformers, motor control centers (MCC), variable frequency drives (VFD), critical motors, and electrical distribution networks. * Ensure reliability of the primary SAG mill drive, its auxiliary systems, and all components involved in its operation. * Ensure proper operation, coordination, and periodic testing of electrical protection devices, relays, interlock logic, emergency shutdown systems, permissives, critical alarms, and configuration backups. * Manage the maintenance strategy for DCS, PLC, SCADA, control networks, servers, operator workstations, historians, control cabinets, process instrumentation, and critical loops. * Approve and prioritize procurement of materials, critical spare parts, specialist services, and consumables required to maintain operational continuity of assets under responsibility. * Coordinate with Operations, Mechanical Maintenance, Metallurgy, Engineering, Operational Technology, and Procurement regarding intervention requirements, planned shutdown windows, improvements, and integrated solutions. * Propose and lead improvement plans related to obsolescence, standardization, reliability, energy efficiency, reduction of exposure to electrical hazards, and technological modernization of assigned systems. * Maintain the maintenance management system at peak efficiency, ensuring plan quality, criticality assessments, failure history, backlog tracking, critical spares management, root cause analysis (RCA), and action follow-up. * Manage the lifecycle and obsolescence of automation, control, and OT platforms, developing technology renewal roadmaps and risk mitigation strategies. * Identify, assess, and manage electrical, operational continuity, instrumentation, automation, and OT cybersecurity risks, ensuring mitigation and contingency plans are in place. * Lead root cause analysis for significant and recurring failures, ensuring effective implementation and verification of corrective actions and defect elimination measures. * Ensure integration between Operations and Maintenance in defining priorities, intervention windows, risk management, and readiness for critical work. * Supervise and monitor field execution of work to ensure compliance with technical specifications, procedures, work permits, lockout/tagout, zero-energy state, defined timelines, and company standards. * Maintain a technically competent team by identifying training and development needs in power systems, drives, protection, instrumentation, automation, process control, and electrical safety. * Supervise and validate area budget management, as well as forecast adherence. * Maintain orderly and clean work areas (Housekeeping). Know and apply ISO 50\.001 within the area, along with the Energy and Climate Change Policy, contributing to achievement of associated objectives and targets. * Contribute to implementation of action plans established under the Energy Management System to meet objectives and targets. * Maintain a satisfactory, safe, and stimulating work environment, with genuine commitment to personnel and environmental safety and energy efficiency, in accordance with the “Internal Regulations on Order, Hygiene and Safety” and the “Code of Ethics and Conduct”. **Requirements** -------------- * Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Civil Engineering, Electronics, Automation and Control, or a closely related field. * A Master’s degree or postgraduate diploma in maintenance management, reliability, energy, or industrial automation is desirable. * Must hold a valid SEC Class A Authorized Electrical Installer Certificate. * Minimum 10 years of experience managing personnel, leading specialist teams, and resolving technical or operational conflicts. * At least 5 years of experience in planning and executing electrical, instrumentation, and process control maintenance in mining plants, in managerial roles. * Demonstrable experience with power systems, substations, switchgear, transformers, MCCs, VFDs, critical motors, distribution networks, and power quality. * Specific knowledge of SAG mill drives, high-power motors, excitation/drive systems, associated protections, interlocks, critical alarms, and configuration backups. * Knowledge of coordination, parameterization, testing, and event analysis for electrical protection devices, relays, trip systems, selectivity, arc\-flash, and electrical safety. * Knowledge of preventive/predictive maintenance planning, maintenance management systems, RCA analysis, reliability, criticality assessment, and critical spare parts management. * Familiarity with DCS, PLC, SCADA, industrial networks, process instrumentation, frequency converters, OT servers, historians, and industrial cybersecurity applied to mining operations. * Knowledge of Intouch, JD Edwards, SAP, Quadrem, PI System, document management systems, data analytics tools, or equivalent platforms. * Intermediate English proficiency. * Class B driver’s license. * Availability to work on a rotating 4x3 and 5x2 weekly shift schedule. **About Teck** At Teck, we value diversity.
