Anglo American is re\-imagining mining to improve people's lives. **Job Description** **Residency:** Metropolitan Region. **PURPOSE** Responsible for ensuring the quality, completeness, and maturity of engineering across all study and execution phases of portfolio projects, guaranteeing adherence to schedules, costs, and corporate standards. Leads multidisciplinary engineering management, integrating disciplines, stakeholders, and contractors to ensure optimal technical solutions and safe execution aligned with the Vice Presidency of Projects’ strategy. **KEY RESPONSIBILITIES** * Lead the owner’s multidisciplinary review of critical engineering deliverables provided by contractors, safeguarding quality. * Ensure multidisciplinary engineering design maturity for each project phase. * Prepare the project engineering plan for owner activities, including Level 1 (L1) planning and assessment of contractor-provided engineering progress and maturity. * Coordinate with other engineering superintendents, project managers, suppliers, engineering managers, and contractors’ technical engineers. * Report daily and operational tasks—including scheduled engineering product reviews—to the Project Manager. * Identify and report potential engineering issues; subsequently recommend solutions to Engineering Management. * Ensure engineering documentation delivered by engineering contractors meets requirements per scope and associated engineering phase. * Ensure engineering execution follows an integrated, multidisciplinary framework, considering all stakeholders (operations, permitting, SHE, community, etc.). * Prepare reports and/or presentations on project status, as well as identified potential issues and recommended solutions. * Standardize processes and solutions across different projects, aligned with each portfolio’s scope. **Requirements** * Professional degree in Structural Civil Engineering, Civil Works, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mining Engineering, or Metallurgical Engineering. * Master’s degrees, postgraduate qualifications, or certifications related to project leadership and implementation (PMI) and corporate engineering, mining, construction, and governance standards. **Professional Experience:** * Minimum 18 years of experience in engineering design for medium- or large-scale projects within multinational companies. * At least 12 years of involvement across all phases of mining projects. * Experience as Engineering Manager or Engineering Coordinator for large-scale projects, including at least one project exceeding USD 500 million and preferably one exceeding USD 1,000 million TIC. * Experience in EPCM projects, including engineering development, procurement, contracting, field support, and vendor engineering review. * Experience in projects utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM) methodology. **Specific Knowledge:** * Proficiency in applicable international and local engineering standards, as well as legislation relevant to each discipline. * Knowledge of value engineering generation, incorporating innovation and safety, environmental, operational, maintenance, sustainability, and mine closure variables. * Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools such as PMI, Agile, and Lean Construction. * Familiarity—with training—of IDM, ICBS, and PMF. * Competence in management and design tools including Microsoft Project, Primavera, ACONEX, Advanced MS Office, AutoCAD, and BIM methodology. **Interpersonal and Leadership Skills:** **Team Processes:** * Ability to be an effective team member—listening, clarifying tasks, receiving and providing feedback. **Collaboration:** * Builds positive working relationships with a diverse range of people across disciplines. * Strong communication skills, ability to substantiate and constructively debate ideas. **Other Requirements:** * Experience and willingness to work in Mining Operations, resolving technical aspects to meet user requirements. * Medical fitness suitable for site work. * Advanced English proficiency. * Class B driver’s license, held for at least three years. **Additional Information** At Anglo American, we are committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse environment where all colleagues are valued and respected for who they are, and where everyone has the opportunity to realize their full potential.
