Driver of innovation in copper leaching and technological development A leading engineering and consulting services company is seeking professionals to address an upcoming service engagement for Large-Scale Mining. We are looking to **integrate a specialized profile** aligned with the Process discipline. The **Technical Specialist** will provide comprehensive technical expertise across the entire copper leaching value chain; this service is currently in the bidding stage. **General Responsibilities:** * Provide expert technical support across all stages of copper leaching operations, including heap and dump leaching systems. * Review and validate metallurgical assumptions, design criteria, operational windows, and control strategies throughout the leaching cycle. * Support innovation initiatives in copper leaching, such as new reagents, bioleaching, sensors, irrigation technologies, heap design, and digital or monitoring solutions. * Accompany technology advancement from laboratory and bench-scale testing through pilot, demonstration, and industrial commissioning phases. * Define validation plans, test programs, pilot criteria, and success metrics to progress through Technology Readiness Levels (TRL). * Identify critical technical uncertainties and ensure mitigation strategies are in place prior to operational implementation. * Develop and update technical guidelines, standards, and best practices covering the full leaching cycle. * Identify opportunities to improve recovery, kinetics, acid consumption, solution balance, and operational stability. * Contribute to continuous improvement and development of the copper leaching technology *roadmap*, aligned with business priorities. * Serve as the technical liaison among operations, projects, innovation teams, suppliers, and external technology partners. **Requirements and Competencies** * In-depth knowledge of hydrometallurgy and copper leaching processes. * Experience leading or supporting innovation initiatives in leaching or mineral processing. * Ability to design, interpret, and scale metallurgical tests, pilot trials, and field demonstrations. * Analytical and systemic thinking applied to integrated process chains. * Ability to communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. * Comfort operating in uncertain environments and influencing without direct authority. * Disciplined approach to documentation, risk management, and decision-making. **Professional Experience** * Degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related fields, with at least **5 years of experience**. * Proven experience in copper leaching, metallurgical support, process engineering, or innovation. * Experience transitioning technologies from pilot or demonstration stages to industrial implementation will be valued. * **Minimum English proficiency level B2 (MANDATORY); part of the service includes English-language meetings with the client** **Employment Conditions:** * **Work Modality:** On-site office work (Remote work subject to special evaluation). * **Working Hours:** * Monday: 08:00–18:00 hrs. * Tuesday to Thursday: 08:00–19:00 hrs. * Friday: 08:00–13:00 hrs. **Important:** Please attach an updated CV and **indicate your salary expectations** Employment Type: Full-time Application Question(s): * Please indicate your salary expectations * Please indicate your availability Work Location: On-site employment
