About the Role **McRays Professional and Industrial Services** is seeking a **Mine Ventilation Engineer** with experience and motivation to join our team in **Antofagasta**. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, analyzing, and optimizing ventilation systems used in mining operations, ensuring appropriate air quality, temperature, airflow, and safety conditions for personnel and production processes. You will work closely with mine operations, planning, geotechnical, maintenance, safety, project, and field supervision teams to ensure that ventilation systems meet current and future operational needs. Key Responsibilities * Manage and coordinate ventilation studies, designs, and plans for mining operations. * Monitor airflow, pressure, temperature, gases, and other relevant ventilation parameters. * Analyze performance of main and auxiliary fans, ducts, regulators, and air circuits. * Work closely with operations, mine planning, maintenance, safety, and project teams. * Prepare and maintain technical reports, drawings, measurement records, and engineering documentation. * Identify constraints or deficiencies in ventilation systems and recommend practical improvements. * Evaluate ventilation requirements associated with new developments, expansions, and changes to the mine plan. * Ensure compliance with internal procedures, safety standards, and applicable mining regulations. * Track performance indicators, operational requirements, and improvement commitments. * Support evaluation processes for ventilation-related equipment and technological solutions. * Participate in field inspections, measurements, and surveys as required. * Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on energy efficiency, safety, and operational reliability. * Communicate technical findings and recommendations to internal teams, contractors, and other stakeholders. * Perform other responsibilities related to mine ventilation and planning as required by operational needs. Qualifications and Experience * Ideally **4–7 years of experience** in mine ventilation, underground mining, mine planning, or related operations. * Experience as a **Mine Ventilation Engineer**, **Ventilation Engineer**, **Mine Planning Engineer**, or similar position. * Solid knowledge of mine ventilation principles, airflow networks, pressure losses, and airflow balancing. * Experience analyzing ventilation requirements for underground developments and operations. * Strong organizational and time management skills. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel. * Experience with specialized mine ventilation modeling and simulation software is preferred. * Degree in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering (Mining), Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Desirable Skills * Modeling and simulation of mine ventilation networks. * Proficiency in software such as Ventsim or equivalent tools. * Design and evaluation of primary and auxiliary ventilation systems. * Calculation of airflow, pressure, and pressure losses. * Knowledge of fans, ducts, and air control systems. * Experience in underground mining. * Familiarity with Ventilation on Demand (VoD). * Analysis of gases, dust, temperature, and environmental conditions. * Evaluation of ventilation system energy efficiency. * Interpretation of mine plans and development sequences. * Preparation of technical reports and presentations. * Coordination of multidisciplinary projects.
