Assist staff in expediting problematic payments (e.g., issues processing credit cards). Follow up with guests to ensure satisfaction with the resolution of their issues. Process all guest check-ins by confirming reservations, assigning rooms, and issuing and activating room keys. Process all types of payments, including accommodation charges and payments made in cash, by check, or via debit or credit card. Open accurate accounts for each guest upon registration (e.g., shared rooms, separate rooms, taxes, incidental charges, compensations). Anticipate situations where room availability is exhausted and secure satisfactory alternative accommodations if the hotel cannot accommodate guests with reservations. Block rooms in the computer system and identify specific guest requests and requirements. Contact the appropriate person or department (e.g., Bell Staff, Housekeeping Department), as needed, to resolve guest calls, requests, or issues. Coordinate with the Housekeeping Department to ensure rooms are in perfect condition upon guest arrival. Review employee shift logs and daily memo books, and document relevant information in records. Perform cash drawer reconciliation at the start and end of each shift. Balance and submit receipts per Accounting specifications. Support management in employee training, motivation, and coaching, and serve as a role model and first point of contact for the "Fair Treatment Guarantee" and "Open Door Policy" process. Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions to the manager; conduct safety trainings and obtain safety certifications. Comply with all company policies and procedures; ensure uniform and personal appearance are neat and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information. Anticipate guest service needs and address them proactively. Communicate with others using clear and professional language; prepare and review written documents accurately and completely; and answer telephones using proper protocol. Cultivate and maintain positive working relationships with others. Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards. Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods of time. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing 10 pounds or less without assistance. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.
DESIRABLE SKILLS
Education: High school diploma or equivalent General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
Relevant work experience: At least 1 year of related work experience.
Supervisory experience: Supervisory experience is not required.
License or certification: None
