Summary: This internship involves supporting the design and development of an application to automate the monitoring and updating of urban policy-related content, with a focus on municipal financing in Latin America and the Caribbean. Utilize skills in data pipelines, LLM APIs, and web scraping Work Location Remote Full\-Time Expected duration 3\-6 meses Duties and Responsibilities The intern will support the design and development of an application to automate the monitoring and updating of urban policy\-related content on the Cities and Urban Platform, with a specific focus on municipal financing and budgeting frameworks in Latin America and the Caribbean. Qualifications/special skills Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work. experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required. Is your field of study related to computer science, data science, software engineering, artificial intelligence or a related field? Studies combining technical skills with public policy, law, or urban planning are an advantage. Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D. Please note that you will have to provide an official certificate at a later stage. Applicants should have the skills to design and develop automated data pipelines, work with large language model (LLM) APIs, and build web scraping or text classification systems. English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in spoken and written Spanish is required for the internship. Additional Information Not available.
