Job Summary: The Continuous Improvement Engineer will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, designing, and implementing initiatives that contribute to operational excellence and process sustainability. Teck holds an indirect 60% stake in the mine. Reporting to the Continuous Improvement Superintendent, the **Continuous Improvement Engineer** will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, designing, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives that contribute to operational excellence, productivity, reliability, and process sustainability by applying improvement methodologies, data analysis, and supporting the deployment and strengthening of the Management Operating System (MOS). The position will be based at the Quebrada Blanca site, located in the Tarapacá Region at 4\.400 meters above sea level, operating on a 4x3 shift system. **Key Responsibilities** --------------------------------- * Be a courageous safety leader, comply with and champion safety and environmental rules, regulations, critical controls, and procedures. * Identify improvement opportunities in operational and support processes. * Lead and execute continuous improvement initiatives. * Apply Lean, Kaizen, PDCA, and root cause analysis methodologies to resolve operational problems. * Map processes, identify waste, and propose value-capture-oriented solutions. * Develop diagnostics, quantitative analyses, and impact assessments of initiatives. * Support the implementation and strengthening of our Management Operating System (MOS). * Conduct data analysis to identify trends, gaps, and optimization opportunities. * Prepare executive reports and presentations for various organizational levels. * Promote operational teams' participation in improvement initiatives. **Requirements** -------------- * Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Civil Engineering, Mining Civil Engineering, Metallurgical Civil Engineering, or a related field. * Minimum two (2) years of professional experience. * Experience in mining, industry, or operational excellence areas. * Participation in continuous improvement or process management projects. * Desired: Experience in implementing or strengthening management systems. * Desired: Experience in data analysis and indicator development. * Knowledge of Continuous Improvement methodologies: Lean, Kaizen, PDCA, Root Cause Analysis (RCA). * Knowledge of Data Management: Advanced Excel, Power BI, Basic Statistical Analysis, Dashboard Development. **About Teck** At Teck, we value diversity.
