Collaborates with a regional network on development projects. **Business Advisor** **Position Title:** Senior Business Advisor **Grade:** 7 **Location:** Antofagasta, Calama and/or San Pedro de Atacama \- Chile **Reports to:** Program Manager **TechnoServe Chile:** TechnoServe Chile is part of TechnoServe’s regional network in Latin America and the Caribbean, operating in 11 countries with a diverse portfolio of agricultural, employability, and enterprise development projects. Since 2008, it has advanced socioeconomic development in Chilean extractive-impact zones, strengthening local capacities and promoting sustainable economic opportunities. Its experience includes youth employability initiatives, supplier development, and support for small enterprises. Through strategic partnerships with leading companies, it actively contributes to the country’s inclusive growth. **Program Summary:** The Indigenous Business Training Program is an initiative aimed at contributing to the economic growth of northern Chilean communities by promoting entrepreneurship and enterprise development led by indigenous peoples. The initiative seeks to diversify the productive matrix and foster greater territorial autonomy. In 2026, a comprehensive training and advisory program will be implemented, targeting 60 formalized indigenous businesses and 10 executives from local institutions in the communes of Antofagasta and San Pedro de Atacama. **Position Summary:** The Senior Business Advisor is responsible for implementing, both in-person and online, the entrepreneurship-related activities of the program, providing technical support to formalized indigenous businesses with at least six months of operations, strengthening their capabilities, and facilitating their integration into local economic development networks. This role is critical to achieving project objectives through efficient, technically sound, and empathetic management in assigned locations. During program implementation, an adult learning methodology will be applied, based on group workshops, individual advisory sessions, technical assistance, and targeted investment for participating entrepreneurs and businesses. **Key Functions and Responsibilities:** * Execute on-site the activities defined for the program. * Advise businesses located in Antofagasta, Calama, and San Pedro de Atacama. * Conduct group and individual workshops and advisory sessions for program beneficiaries. * Maintain rigorous records of all on-site activities, including minutes, attendance lists, and photographic documentation. * Prepare, together with the program coordination team, necessary materials for workshops and advisory sessions. * Support coordination of entrepreneurship fairs, knowledge exchange visits, local stakeholder meetings, seminars, and workshops as required. * Prepare periodic reports for direct supervisors and fulfill weekly work plan commitments. * Provide recommendations to incorporate improvements to the project, based on field experience and direct engagement with entrepreneurs. * Collaborate on other project activities as required by the program. **Basic Qualifications:** * University professional degree in Civil Engineering, Commercial Engineering, Business Administration, or related fields. * Minimum of three years of professional experience, preferably in local economic development projects; one year if holding a master’s degree, preferably in entrepreneurship, innovation, or public policy. * Knowledge of and experience in building collaborative networks with public and private stakeholders. * Ability to design and implement action plans oriented toward achieving objectives. * Intermediate/advanced proficiency in MS Office tools. * Availability for hybrid work (on-site and remote). * Residence, preferably in Antofagasta, Calama, or San Pedro de Atacama. * Demonstrable experience delivering workshops and advisory services to businesses and entrepreneurial initiatives. * Knowledge of entrepreneurship and business management topics such as business models, marketing, finance, corporate growth plans, commercial strategies, among others. **Desired Qualifications:** * Experience as a mentor/advisor for entrepreneurship programs, value chains, or similar is desirable. * Proven experience engaging with public and private institutions at the regional level to achieve shared objectives. * Experience working with or advising indigenous-led businesses. **Location:** 30% of work is conducted on-site in Antofagasta, Calama, and San Pedro de Atacama; the remaining 70% is conducted online. **Workload:** Full-time **Duration:** 4 months starting September 2026\. **Contract Type:** Fixed-term contract. **Supervisory Responsibility:** None **Compensation Offered:** Up to $1\.700\.000 gross monthly, plus mobility, meal, internet, and operation-related expense reimbursements per the organization’s program policy. #### **Experience** Preferred: * Experience working with or advising indigenous-led businesses. * Proven experience engaging with public and private institutions at the regional level to achieve shared objectives. * Experience as a mentor/advisor for entrepreneurship programs, value chains, or similar is desirable. * Demonstrable experience delivering workshops and advisory services to businesses and entrepreneurial initiatives. * 3 year(s): Building collaborative networks with public and private stakeholders. * 3 year(s): Preferably in local economic development projects. #### **Education** Preferred: * Master’s degree or higher in Policy Studies or related field. * Master’s degree or higher in Entrepreneurship or related field. * Bachelor’s degree or higher in General Business or related field. * Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Administration or related field. * Bachelor’s degree or higher in General Business or related field. * Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering or related field. #### **Skills** Preferred: * Supply Chain \& Value Chain. * Finance. * Business Strategy. * Business Development. * Entrepreneurship. * Google Workspace. * Microsoft Office Suite. * Training. #### **Behaviors** Preferred: * Innovative: Continuously presents new ideas and demonstrates original thinking. * Team Player: Works effectively as a member of a group. * Thought Provoker: Capable of prompting others to deeply reflect on a topic. * Enthusiastic: Demonstrates intense and overflowing interest and pleasure. * Dedicated: Committed to a task or purpose with loyalty or integrity. #### **Motivations** Preferred: * Impact Potential: Inspired to perform well by the ability to contribute to a project’s or organization’s success. * Goal Achievement: Inspired to perform well through task execution. * Entrepreneurial Spirit: Inspired to perform well by the ability to encourage new ventures in business. * Self-Starter: Inspired to perform well without external prompting.
