Our hotel is one of the city’s most exciting culinary destinations—with an authentic Nikkei dining experience at Matsuri, Italian flavours at Senso, and light snacks and beverages at Atrium Lobby Lounge. **About the Role** Mandarin Oriental, Santiago is seeking a Room Operations Manager for its Engineering Department, who will be responsible for: planning, coordinating, supervising, and controlling the proper operation, maintenance, and availability of guestrooms, suites, and corridors—ensuring compliance with technical, operational, safety, sustainability, and guest satisfaction standards. **Your Key Responsibilities** * Plan and execute preventive maintenance (Perfect Room) for guestrooms and their corridors, documenting all activities performed. To do so, coordinate as necessary with the Sales and Housekeeping teams to ensure room availability. Maintenance also includes guestroom floor terraces—including their automatic irrigation systems—as well as corridor and guestroom fan coils; for the latter, coordinate with the Chief Engineer to assign required personnel. * Handle all technical requests related to guestrooms and their corridors. * Reduce energy consumption (gas, water, electricity) within your area of responsibility. * Ensure proper disposal of all waste generated by your operations, complying with Mandarin Oriental and national regulations. * Safely store all flammable materials under your responsibility, complying with Mandarin Oriental and national regulations. * Enforce the TAG-OUT Procedures & Practices (P&P) on all tasks carried out within your scope, using electrical and mechanical lockout devices. * Execute the Winter Plan as it relates to suite terraces. * Maintain and support the following records: Ø Quarterly cleaning of showerheads (per inventory). Ø Annual inspection of guestrooms for mould/mildew. Ø Annual battery replacement for: guestroom door locks, in-room safes, and flashlights. * Maintain cleanliness of suite glass surfaces. * Monitor the operational status of guestrooms daily via the “HMS Infor” system, aiming at all times to maximize available rooms. * Monitor inventory of guestroom TVs. * Create and maintain an updated stock of supplies and spare parts required for guestroom repair and maintenance. * Execute Fire & Safety preventive maintenance cards related to guestroom fire dampers, emergency stairwell pressurization, and emergency lighting UPS status. * Manage maintenance and repair of housekeeping trolleys and staff carts. * Create and manage all Purchase Requests (PRs) and Purchase Orders (OCs) related to your role. * Maintain control of all requests in ALICE, ensuring continuous access to this platform. * Guest satisfaction surveys or Glitch reports relating to corridors or guestrooms fall under your responsibility. * Serve as the Engineering Department’s point of contact for guestroom pest management, including attendance at monthly meetings and oversight of all related documentation.
