Our team in Chile is growing — we are currently recruiting a **Mechanical Engineer, Senior**. **About the Role** * Support the delivery of multiple engineering tasks. Seek guidance and support (especially from a technical perspective) and know when to request it. * Prepare, review, and validate calculation reports for critical mechanical systems and components. * Understand industry codes and standards, as well as relevant design criteria specific to the engineering discipline. * Provide technical direction and assign work to subordinate staff such as engineers, designers, drafters, technicians, and others assisting in the execution of specific tasks. * Plan, schedule, execute, and coordinate engineering design tasks, including complex features such as resolving design clashes within the project and managing difficult coordination requirements. * Plan and/or develop discipline-specific activities and deliverables (e.g., technical specifications, data sheets, reports, etc.). Recommend changes to activities, deliverables, or engineering processes as appropriate. * Define and recommend design methods, specifications, and performance or functional requirements for the Project. * Ensure that the discipline’s engineering designs align with the Project’s scope and objectives and comply with applicable discipline standards. * Execute/supervise required work using Ausenco’s standard application software and appropriate 3D design tools. Use engineering tools such as SmartPlant 3D and AutoCAD 2D and 3D or similar. * Understand the technical scope of the contract, obligations, commitments, incentives, and associated civil liabilities. * Ensure designs are safe, of the highest quality, and deliver optimal value for the client. * Conduct site visits to gather background information and identify relevant project data. * Independently manage technical matters, in accordance with instructions from your Discipline Lead or Principal, related to the discipline and interactions with clients, suppliers, regulators, and field personnel. **About You** * Mechanical Civil Engineer * 8–15 years of proven work experience in mining and industrial projects, either with engineering consulting firms or construction companies. * Proven experience using SmartPlant 3D and AutoCAD 2D and 3D software. * Experience in mining projects covering detailed engineering, EPCM or EPC projects, with emphasis on copper concentrator plants. * Willingness to travel to site locations. * Intermediate English language proficiency. **Why Ausenco?** We support individual growth, and our goal is to enable you to work in a way that leverages your strengths and meets your needs.
