Location * + Santiago, Chile Stage Experienced Level Time Full time Type Employee Place On Site **Job Description** 1\) Safely guide a lifting operation. This will be done by developing a lifting operation work plan; subsequently supporting and directing the crane operator using standardized hand signals while the operator is controlling the lifting machine. 2\) Prior to executing the lifting operation, assess volume, density, specific weight, lifting equipment capacity, rigging components, and machine movement—via ropes or any other relevant equipment (i.e., vertical work)—as a fundamental, though not sole, factor for issuing pre-established signals to the crane operator. 3\) Inspect the condition of lifting elements and accessories, confirm their correct usage, and discard any item deemed unsuitable for safe load handling. 4\) Manipulate rigging lines, load inclination, immersion, or rotation of suspended loads using multi-point suspension techniques to enable movement in, over, or around potential obstacles. Controlling load movement through narrow openings or confined spaces is possible. 5\) Ensure compliance with equipment safety and operational conditions by following operational protocols, thereby guaranteeing process continuity with minimal impact on costs and the environment. 6\) Record all relevant operational events and conduct detailed, clear, and accurate shift handovers to maintain up-to-date records of equipment status and positioning, minimizing operational deviations. 7\) Assist in various operations conducted within the worksite or field, including supporting production processes and equipment operation at the worksite or field, as required. 8\) Report defects or failures, unsafe or substandard conditions in tools or facilities—to direct or indirect supervisors—if such conditions may cause injury to personnel or damage to equipment and facilities. 9\) Actively participate in ART/AST verification prior to each work shift, as well as verify generated checklists. Report deviations and request corrective actions from the operations department. 10\) Comply with the Internal Regulations on Order, Hygiene, and Safety. 11\) Must properly use and safeguard personal protective equipment (PPE), and enforce PPE usage among subordinates. 12\) Maintain order and cleanliness of facilities using available resources. 13\) Actively participate in current company-wide and client-related topics concerning Safety, Occupational Health, and Environment to prevent accidents, injuries, and negative environmental impacts, and comply with local regulations. Respond to undesired events in accordance with applicable law and organizational guidelines related to ethics and policies. Academic Qualification: Completed Secondary Education. Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in this role, of which at least 3 years must be within the mining industry. Knowledge * Knowledge of geotechnical drilling equipment lifting; knowledge of articulated hydraulic cranes. Certifications: * Certification in lifting techniques. * Rigger training course certification.
