We are seeking a **Population Development Specialist** for our experimental station in Arica, Chile. **Position Summary and Key Challenges** Manage environmental control and technical operations across various greenhouse structures at Corteva Arica, maximizing crop productivity potential according to each facility’s technological level and capabilities. This role focuses on proactive monitoring, metric analysis, and close collaboration with maintenance to optimize current infrastructure and plan improvements. The incumbent leads their team and ensures effective communication with internal customers, consistently adhering to safety standards, CAMS processes, and company values. * Command climate control in high-tech greenhouses using specialized software, ensuring compliance with technical protocols and staff training on these tools. * Proactively monitor and adjust conditions in medium- and low-tech greenhouses to achieve maximum productive potential within each structure’s constraints and capabilities. * Develop and track operational metrics to evaluate environmental control efficiency and propose technical improvement initiatives in the area. * Own the operational lifecycle of the assigned team: from identifying hiring needs and renewals to direct supervision and quality control of executed tasks. * Maintain fluent, two-way communication with supervisors, internal customers, and colleagues, understanding key DH program processes to foster interdepartmental teamwork. * Ensure smooth workflow for assigned processes, keeping all technical and procedural documentation up to date on the CAMS platform. Guarantee that 100% of activities comply with the company’s strict safety, CAMS, and regulatory requirements. Ensure implementation of training plans, internal campaigns, and actively promote Corteva Agriscience Values in all interactions. Collaborate with the maintenance team on a medium- and long-term vision to define materials, ventilation systems, and light management strategies that ensure optimal environmental quality (light, heat, and airflow) aligned with biological requirements. **What You’ll Bring** * Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Engineering, or Advanced Technical Agriculture. Minimum 3 years of verifiable experience managing protected environments (greenhouses) and crop operations. * Prior experience leading operational teams. Technical knowledge of greenhouse construction materials, polyethylene films, shade nets, ventilation systems, and light-use efficiency (desirable). * Knowledge of space management and basic soil/substrate strategy concepts to optimize trials. * Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (advanced Excel highly desirable for metric generation and data analysis). * Ability to interpret climatic data and translate it into operational decisions that improve crop performance. * Skill in organizing personnel, prioritizing tasks under pressure, and resolving resource allocation conflicts. * Orientation toward identifying failures before they occur and proposing innovative solutions. * Ability to interact effectively across organizational levels (from operators to internal customers and management). * Class B driver’s license (minimum 1 year validity). * Availability to work rotating shifts and flexible hours according to crop requirements or weather emergencies. * Willingness to undertake domestic and international travel as required for training or company projects. ### ***Corteva announced to separate our current advanced seed and genetics business to establish a standalone company, operating as Vylor, Inc.
