Job Summary: Sierra Gorda SCM is seeking a Senior Category Engineer to lead complex sourcing strategies, manage negotiations and contracts, and coordinate cost-saving and innovation initiatives to generate business value. Coordinate cost-saving, innovation, and continuous improvement initiatives **Job Description** ---------------------- Sierra Gorda SCM is looking for a Senior Category Engineer responsible for: Leading the development of sourcing strategies for complex, high-impact categories to manage negotiations, procurement, and contracts within the Supply Chain process, while coordinating cost-saving, innovation, and continuous improvement initiatives that contribute to strategic efficiency, risk mitigation, and business value generation. Developing category-specific sourcing strategies through spend, market, and supplier analysis in the management of complex, high-impact business categories. Leading competitive bidding processes for goods and services (Sourcing Plan) through strategic planning and procurement coordination. Executing negotiations with strategic suppliers in face-to-face or virtual meetings, supported by scenario preparation and value analysis. Coordinating and reviewing contracts involved in operations, as well as evaluating their performance, through contractual monitoring and compliance analysis. Maintaining ongoing coordination with user departments through alignment meetings and needs assessment. Proposing improvements to procurement processes and exploring new technologies through opportunity analysis, benchmarking, and collaboration with key departments. Keeping assigned category strategies up to date, proactively managing deviations, macroeconomic market risks, geopolitical factors, and contractual obligations. Participating in technical committees by representing the procurement area and conducting strategic analysis of requirements. Coordinating meetings with strategic suppliers of assigned categories at a frequency defined according to category criticality and market dynamics. **Candidate Requirements** -------------------------- * Bachelor's degree from a 5-year or longer professional program in Commercial Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field. * 5–6 years of professional and role-specific experience. * Knowledge of procurement and contracting, as well as category-based sourcing strategies. * Knowledge of supplier evaluation, spend analysis, negotiation, and KPIs. * Software: Microsoft Office, Thinkcell, Power BI, JDE, Ariba, procurement platforms. * Advanced English proficiency.
