This includes facilitating collaboration among key project team members so that knowledge gained from one project can be transferred to others. This "lateral" transfer of information is essential to avoid repeating the same errors across multiple projects, to provide valuable insight from prior project experience, and to centralize functional knowledge areas and overcome technical obstacles. The site QA/QC Lead is responsible for addressing QA/QC issues at the site level (issues spanning multiple projects or buildings on-site). They will also attend QA/QC meetings at the end-client level. Their position within the site organizational chart ensures technical and administrative independence, and reporting will be directly to the Project Manager. **Key Responsibilities:** The key responsibilities of the QA Manager I relate to quality activities to be performed on-site, both for internal personnel and direct contractors. The QA/QC Manager may also have responsibility for laboratory subcontracts covering: Concrete / Soils / NDT / Coatings / Surveying and Electrical Testing. * Verify that quality assurance and quality control requirements are met during the construction phase of the project. Construction Quality Lead * Develop procedures, guidelines, and forms referencing project quality requirements on-site. * Review and approve subcontractor construction quality plans, ITPs, and other quality-related submissions. * Identify and implement quality training and development requirements to ensure personnel possess sufficient understanding of project requirements and procedures to achieve project objectives. * Conduct scheduled evaluations of Construction Subcontractors’ and lower-tier Construction Subcontractors’ activities per their Quality Plan. * Audit or supervise implementation of approved Procedures and ITPs according to scope of work. These evaluations do not relieve the Construction Subcontractor of its responsibility to audit its lower-tier subcontractor(s) to ensure compliance with project requirements. * Verify, validate, and/or reject whether construction protocols comply with detailed engineering specifications. * Maintain the set of acceptance test records, conformity certificates, approved ITPs, and test procedures. * Identify non-conformances and notify the Construction Manager of situations warranting work suspension. * Take a leading role in issuing Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), follow up on any issued NCR until closure, and maintain an NCR and corrective action register. * Hold weekly meetings with the Construction Subcontractor’s Quality Representative to identify and address potential project quality-related risks. * Supervise/verify Construction Subcontractor quality activities and document supervision of Construction Subcontractor work quality per the requirements of this Plan, approved ITPs, and Procedures. * Supervise any external inspection or testing agency directly contracted by Worley. * Identify and review quality records required for subsequent delivery of construction packages. * Prepare a monthly report for management summarizing on-site quality activities, concerns, and project quality statistics for the period. * Verify achievement of project quality objectives. * Prepare the project quality close-out report. * Participate in the Project Lessons Learned Workshop. * Prepare, maintain, and control statistics associated with project quality control. * Provide and take accountability for the field audit, surveillance, and inspection plan; execute and maintain the plan current and updated; report possible deviations occurring in both processes and construction. **Supervisory Authority** * Manages and directs work either directly or through supervisors or professionals who lead others. **Communication** * Communicate effectively and assume a leadership role in preparing and presenting proposals and reports to staff and management. Intermediate-to-advanced knowledge of statistical tools for decision-making. **What You’ll Bring?** **Software, Processes and Tools** · Civil Engineer or Construction Engineer with a university degree; postgraduate courses desirable. · Minimum 15 years of experience in mining, infrastructure, or industrial erection projects. · Minimum 8 years of direct experience in quality control/quality assurance; participation in commissioning projects desirable. · Experience applying quality controls during engineering phases (basic and detailed), procurement/contracting, construction, and commissioning. · Experience in construction planning. · Experience in project administration and/or management. · ISO 9001 Lead Auditor qualification. · Knowledge of technical standards such as ACI, API, ASME IX, NFPA, and others used in construction. · Proficiency in technical standards and quality management systems. · Advanced English language proficiency; this role requires a high level of spoken English.
