Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking an Industrial Electromechanical Technician to perform inspection, preventive and corrective maintenance, and repair of electromechanical equipment in industrial operations.
Key Highlights:
1. Specialized maintenance, technical diagnosis, and repair of equipment.
2. Perform preventive inspections and identify signs of wear.
3. Identify recurring failures and propose improvements for reliability.
**About the Role:** Padre Las Casas is a strategic area for industrial, technical, logistics, and service activities in La Araucanía. At FTR Technical and Industrial Services, we support operational continuity of production facilities through specialized maintenance, technical diagnosis, and repair of electromechanical equipment.
We are looking for an **Industrial Electromechanical Technician** to perform inspection, maintenance, and repair work on electric motors, control panels, pumps, transmission systems, and equipment used in industrial operations.
You will not be limited to responding only when a machine fails. You will conduct preventive inspections, identify signs of wear, diagnose electrical and mechanical issues, and implement solutions that reduce interruptions and maintain equipment in safe operating conditions.
The position is based at **Ruta 5 Sur, Kilometer 6, Padre Las Casas, La Araucanía Region, Chile**.
**Key Responsibilities:**
**Preventive Maintenance:** Execute scheduled inspections, technical cleaning, lubrication, adjustments, and component replacement according to maintenance plans.
**Corrective Maintenance:** Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and electromechanical failures affecting equipment continuity.
**Electric Motor Inspection:** Inspect motors, connections, protections, bearings, starting systems, and general operating conditions.
**Electrical Panel Maintenance:** Review power and control panels, contactors, relays, switches, protections, and industrial wiring.
**Pumping Systems:** Perform maintenance on pumps, motor-pumps, valves, couplings, and associated components.
**Fault Diagnosis:** Use measurement instruments and technical procedures to identify the root cause of electrical or mechanical anomalies.
**Frequency Drives:** Review parameters, alarms, connections, and operation of frequency drives and soft starters.
**Equipment Installation:** Support installation, alignment, connection, and commissioning of motors, pumps, and industrial machinery.
**Field Inspections:** Evaluate operational conditions, detect risks, and record deviations that may lead to future failures.
**Blueprint Reading:** Interpret electrical diagrams, mechanical drawings, technical manuals, and connection schematics.
**Activity Documentation:** Record inspections, repairs, spare parts used, intervention times, and technical recommendations.
**Spare Parts Management:** Report material requirements and verify availability of critical components for scheduled maintenance.
**Operational Safety:** Comply with lockout/tagout procedures, use of personal protective equipment, and internal risk prevention standards.
**Coordination with Operations:** Communicate with supervisors and operators to schedule interventions and minimize impact on production.
**Continuous Improvement:** Identify recurring failures and propose technical adjustments or maintenance changes to enhance equipment reliability.
**What We Are Looking For:**
**Experience:** Minimum 2 years of experience in electromechanical maintenance, industrial electricity, equipment repair, or industrial technical services.
**Education:** Technical diploma (mid- or higher-level) in Industrial Electricity, Electromechanics, Automation and Control, Industrial Mechanics, or a related specialty.
**Industrial Electricity:** Knowledge of low-voltage systems, electrical panels, control circuits, protection devices, and motor starting systems.
**Mechanics:** Knowledge of bearings, pulleys, belts, chains, gear reducers, couplings, and transmission systems.
**Measuring Instruments:** Proficiency with multimeters, clamp meters, megohmmeters, and other basic diagnostic tools.
**Automation:** Knowledge of sensors, contactors, relays, frequency drives, soft starters, and basic controllers is preferred.
**Technical Interpretation:** Ability to read electrical schematics, control diagrams, manufacturer manuals, and maintenance procedures.
**Problem Solving:** Ability to analyze symptoms, identify probable causes, and carry out safe and effective repairs.
**Field Work:** Willingness to conduct inspections and technical work at industrial facilities in Padre Las Casas and nearby communes.
**Driver’s License:** A valid Class B driver’s license is preferred for operational mobility and on-site service delivery.
**Organization:** Ability to follow maintenance schedules, prioritize emergencies, and maintain accurate records for each intervention.
**Communication:** Ability to clearly explain failures, risks, and technical recommendations to supervisors, operators, and clients.
**Languages:** Fluent Spanish. Technical English proficiency is valued for consulting equipment manuals and documentation.
**Mindset:** You are a careful, practical, and safety-oriented individual. You do not perform temporary repairs without analyzing the root cause; you aim to restore equipment functionality and improve long-term reliability.
