Located in the heart of Santiago, our office connects global expertise with world-class mining projects. **Job Description** ------------------------- Reporting to the Director of Commissioning, the **Commissioning Manager** will be responsible for leading and overseeing all of Teck’s project commissioning activities, ensuring adherence to schedules and budgets while proactively safeguarding worker safety, health, and environmental protection. This position is based in Santiago at Teck’s corporate offices, operating on a standard 5x2 schedule from Monday to Friday, with frequent visits to the Quebrada Blanca operation, located at 4,400 meters above sea level. **Key Responsibilities** --------------------------------- * Be a courageous safety leader; comply with and champion safety and environmental rules and procedures. * Provide visible leadership in areas aligned with Teck’s core values, including Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. * Recruit, develop, and manage the Commissioning team, providing functional direction and supervision of discipline-specific procedures. * Develop, monitor, and maintain the commissioning plan, schedule, and procedures, aligned with procurement, construction, and production schedules. * Responsible for defining roles and coordinating responsibilities among the Teck team, supplier representatives, and external contractors—including legal and professional responsibilities related to safety and performance per contractual terms. * Manage design changes and document approved variations during pre-operational testing and commissioning phases. * Verify that installations and construction work comply with design specifications, regulations, and company requirements, ensuring readiness for commissioning prior to execution. * Ensure effective internal and external communication regarding matters within the scope of responsibility. * Ensure compliance with HSE policies, procedures, and regulations, promoting commitment to the Zero Harm goal through safe behaviors. * Establish necessary communication processes and channels (including approvals) to implement changes and update the commissioning plan. **Requirements** -------------- * University degree in Construction, Mineral Processing, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. * Minimum 15 years of relevant experience leading Project and Commissioning Teams. * Experience in construction, engineering, and project management environments. * Experience with large-scale mineral processing plants featuring SAG mills, ball mills, and flotation systems. * Advanced proficiency in English, both oral and written, is mandatory. * Proficiency with planning tools such as Primavera P6 and MS Project. * Knowledge of SCADA systems. * Personal attributes we value: Strategic leadership, team management, openness to change, innovation and continuous improvement, appreciation of diversity, business acumen, and effective communication. **About Teck** At Teck, we value diversity.
