Job Summary: We are seeking a Java Backend Developer with a solid foundation in development and practical experience integrating AI services into projects for developing and maintaining new functionalities. At Kibernum, we are looking for a Java Backend Developer to join a project focused on developing and maintaining new functionalities, working with Java 17, Spring Boot, and backend-level integration of Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning solutions. We seek a candidate with a strong foundation in Java backend development, who also has practical experience integrating AI services via APIs, cloud-deployed models, or cognitive services. Key Responsibilities: • Develop and maintain backend functionalities using Java 17 and Spring Boot. • Design, build, and integrate REST APIs for backend services. • Integrate AI / Machine Learning solutions at the backend level. • Consume AI APIs, cognitive services, or cloud-deployed models. • Process and send data from backend services to AI engines. • Perform unit and integration testing with JUnit. • Work with Git, Jenkins, Jira, and relational databases. • Participate in agile ceremonies: Daily Stand-up, Planning, and Review. Requirements: • University degree in Computer Science or related field. Mandatory. • Minimum 2 years of backend development experience; ideally over 3 years. • Experience with Java 17 or modern versions, along with prior experience in other Java versions. • Experience with Spring Boot and REST API development. • Practical experience integrating AI / Machine Learning solutions at the backend level. • Experience consuming AI / ML APIs, integrating cloud-deployed models, or cognitive services. • Experience with JUnit and Git. • Experience with relational databases: PostgreSQL, Oracle, or SQL Server. • Experience or knowledge of cloud platforms: GCP preferred; AWS or Azure also acceptable. • Knowledge of agile methodologies. Required AI Experience: No requirement to develop or train models from scratch; however, proven integration of AI into production solutions or demonstrable projects is required, e.g.: • Consuming AI or Machine Learning APIs from the backend. • Integrating AI models deployed in the cloud. • Processing and sending data to AI engines. • Using cloud-based AI services: GCP, AWS, or Azure. • Desirable experience with cognitive services, LLMs, RAG, embeddings, or semantic search. Conditions: • Hybrid work model: 2 days per week onsite in Las Condes, near Tobalaba Metro station. • Fixed-term contract, transitioning to indefinite after evaluation. • Project involving development of new functionalities and system maintenance.
